After over 20 years away from this series I watched it again. This really is timeless. The characterisation is 3 dimensional. The scripting and premise is wonderfully thought out. The personalities of each of them is well script and brought convinsingly to life by the dubbing cast. It was sad to see the end when the series just finished with a wide open ending. This has stood the test of time and I hope the bring to life another series so they can find a way home. It leaves me wondering.

the scene from 3:22 - 6:35 is great! the way Shelia looks around, the how Bobby starts to cry - reminds you that he's just a kid (7/8years old), and the way Eric looks down after Hank asks him if he has a better idea, and the way Hank is really assertive with the DM at the end of the scene, and DM asks Hank for his permission to go!!! I still love this show after all this time!

ok so at 1:43 the little kid breaks a club the size of 5 trees but on end, and breaks the ice on the ground about 15 feet under, yet he complains near the end that his club was heavy???

Yeah, Frank Welker is the voice of Uni and Tiamat and probably a few others. The writer makes a joke on the DVD commentary, "Have you ever seen a cartoon? Frank Welker was in it."
I used to watch this show every Saturday morning when I was a kid. It was the best. I could never understand why they wanted to get back home though. As a kid I thought living in the D&D world would be much better.

this episode deals with some real emotional issues. If they played it on t.v. today, kids might be less reluctent to kill themselves and play danger games on the streets.
This episode had some serious balls. I mean, how many people who watched these kinds of shows didn't cry out in frustration at some point "why not kill the villain and put a stop of this?" and this episode attempted just that... of course, if they would have done it, it probably wouldn't have been approved or not met without controversy (plus it would have meant the show would have to be canceled since the main characters would easily return home after it).
There is an citation to this episode, in Wikipedia, remarking it has been ruthlessly pen-pushed by american censors.

Just watching this brings back so many memories! Then I thought about all the modern cartoons/drama's/novels we have and it occured to me that without these original idea's we wouldn't have things like 'Heroes', Harry Potter, etc....does anyone agree??

Yeah, Frank Welker is the voice of Uni and Tiamat and probably a few others. The writer makes a joke on the DVD commentary, "Have you ever seen a cartoon? Frank Welker was in it."

I used to watch this show every Saturday morning when I was a kid. It was the best. I could never understand why they wanted to get back home though. As a kid I thought living in the D&D world would be much better.

Yes,it was.and Adam Rich(Eight is enough) and Willie Aames (Eight is Enough,Charles in Charge) did the voices of Hank and Presto.
And yes,Peter Cullen did do the voices of both Optimus Prime and Venger.

this episode deals with some real emotional issues. If they played it on t.v. today, kids might be less reluctent to kill themselves and play danger games on the streets.

His name was Bobby. Eric was the Cavalier. I can't remember if they ever got home or not, but I used to watch this cartoon every Saturday.

This episode had some serious balls. I mean, how many people who watched these kinds of shows didn't cry out in frustration at some point "why not kill the villain and put a stop of this?" and this episode attempted just that... of course, if they would have done it, it probably wouldn't have been approved or not met without controversy (plus it would have meant the show would have to be canceled since the main characters would easily return home after it).
