  • Neil Sedaka wrote it, and released it on his album "Sedaka Is Back." In 1975 Captain and Tennille put it on their debut album. It won a Grammy for song of the year.

    Sedaka has now been informed of the infringement on his song. When chords changed, the integrity of the song is changed.

I had a guy recently, who wanted to record two of my songs..he wanted to change them, I said NO WAY! It's as is, or not all. Thank you for this post..I'm so glad someone else said it! And just for the record, no one will ever top C & T's version!

  • LOL This was the song of the year in 1975! Captain and Tenille won the Grammy. Neil Sedaka originally wrote the song, although not specifically for them, and also recorded it. The classics truly do live on.....
