Well i'm all for a different sound, band do change, and I have no problem with a band becoming mainstream , but please anyone that thinks that songs like "Use somebody" are a good progression does not understand shit about music and certainly could never have never been a fan of the old sound. They were kings of Leon not U2. But anyway I have faith that they are going to deliver in the next one. Great song, great concert this one.

Surely, Only by the night became a mainstream record but I dare to say that this might have been a cruel step in order show the world that they exist ! And mainstream does not mean that their bad. Besides back in the 60's and 70's Led Zeppelin / the doors and so on were also regarded as mainstream. Needless to say that I prefer to have B Spears and Kol on the same radio tune than B Spears and Timberland or whatever.

To me each record sounds diffrent and it is just bullshit to compare Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd to Kol becuase they simply have been big in a different period.

I found KOL because of "Only by the Night", and I'm so glad I did. I have now started listening to their past albums, and I LOVE'EM! If they hadn't gone more "mainstream", there are LOTS of us that would have NEVER got a'hold of the goodness... =)

monsterstinker, if your a musician you should know that it doesnt take much practice to learn other genres. The true test of a band is whether they can continue their original sound but expand it. Think of Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix. The Kings of Leon dont sound like the Kings of Leon anymore. The new stuff shows how lazy they got. In my hometown of Seattle, Wa, I do get a little frustrated when the KOL new stuff is played on the same radio station as Britney Spears. Sell outs.
