  • He's in love with Imogen Heap. Back off, she's mine.

  • You still need to keep your computer on...

I keep my computer on all night, connect it with a good speakers and I download a free alarm clock program... guess what.. it does the same job!

I'd pay my 299 for a really nice speakers in stead of this.

  • So your computer is on 24/7?

Nice to hear that at least someone care of the enviroment and climate change...

  • my laptop is on all night since i have to. Nothing to do with environment. I ride my bicycle to school everyday....no driving... do you?

  • but the idea of this is to have it at the other end of your house, and some people dont have laptops, and this is alot easier to use just for music

  • Hahaha, an alarm clock program does the same job as a Squeezebox Boom? Not in a million years! That's funny! BTW, your computer does NOT need to be on if you're streaming from a NAS with the slimserver (SqueezeCenter) installed. Check out the NetGear ReadyNAS Duo, works flawlessly with the Squeezebox series. Of course you'll have to have a router, preferrably a wireless one unless you want to run Cat5.

  • i wish i had enough money to just boy a mac just to put music on and keep it in my closet just for a clock radio! its kind of a waste if you ask me.

  • Must your computer be on to listen to the music?

  • Yes

  • No, some people seem a little confused but no, the computer does not need to be on to listen to music. You do though need a router so the Squeezebox can connect to the internet.

  • This is a good channel. Few BS. Worth subscribing.

  • I would have bought a Mac, but I can't afford one.

  • if u wanna stream music throughout ur house there's a good article about it in i think December's Macworld, if u use an airport express base station and plug it into ur speakers and enable airtunes on ur mac ur done

  • Can it play my Spotify playlist?

  • sikk!!!

    this guy listens to BT!!!

    one of my favorite producers!!

  • does it work with airtunes? cus i got aiport express thats awesome (especially with remote) and if i could get an airport express kinda thing built into clock that wud b cool

  • only works on mac???

  • why is that a BAD thing???? MACS RULE!!! why are you watching macworld if you don't have a mac?????

  • co\ of there "world tech update" vids

  • Sure, but my Mac is a MacBook, whose lid I close when I'm not using it. I would much prefer to serve from my dedicated Linux server.

  • i do not have a mac. and i love to watch macworld. i love macs. i just do not have the money for the one i want. and im not buying one that doesnt meet my specs. plus there are more things compatible with windows than mac. because not everyone has the money for a mac.

  • why do you think its called "macworld"?

  • works on mac, linux, windows

  • Wow it's pretty cool i want it.. Thanks a lot for the review :)

  • Wow, I could instead get a PS3 for the cost of that thing. Not worth it.

  • ps3 is double its cost

    think you mean xbox

  • That´s not even compareble. I have a PS3 and you can stream music to it, but only in ONE room... The Sqeezebox's you can set up in more than one room, and play the same music in all or different in all of them. If you have the SB Duet, you can control all of your zones with the same remote that also has a screen that shows all albumcovers and a lot more.

But the PS3 is alot better on games and BluRay ;-)

  • pretty cool but a bit expensive for me - you might want to wait till deflation gets more visible and drives prices down.

thanks for posting, its pretty cool.

    :)
