T.T what I did, (read slowly if it helps): 1. SET THE BACKGROUND TO THE IMAGE OF PIVOT. 2. open the image of pivot with ms paint, and take a chunk out of floor. (copy this chunk.) save both the chunk and the Background. 3. when somethign damages the background, switch it to the one with the chunk out of it, and make a sprite of the chunk for "gibs". It's not actual damage. It's just animated. If you still don't get it, go else where.
