More jobs can be lost in the private market than are created by a stimulus. But that doesn't mean that jobs aren't created. Here where I am, there were many teachers that were going to be let go and the stimulus saved their jobs. Without that stimulus, things would have been worse. I don't miss Saddam. But, there are over 4K soldiers that are missed and about a trillion dollars that is missed all wasted to strengthen Al-Qaeda and Iran. It wasn't worth it.

The Obama Admin admitted that the unemployment problems (caused by Bush policies) ended up being worse than projected. The current economy crisis is based on the fani/fredie home loan fiasco--a dem intiated program. The car companies hit the wall last year when the oil prices soared (that marked the end to the Hummer sales). The O admin said the economy was worse than projected because they always blame something else. Basically the O admin is failing.

He was using a plan from someone in his cabinet that predicted that unemployment would not exceed 8% if the stimulus was passed. There was never a promise that was made and Obama never said that unemployment would not go above 8% if the stimulus was passed. Predictions are usually wrong. You're right. No one can confirm that 3 million jobs were saved or created. But, the stimulus did create jobs. Bridges are being built. Roads are being fixed. This requires manpower and that equals jobs. How many, is left to be determined. Cheney said we'd be greeted as liberators and Rummy said it would take weeks, not months or years. That is a prediction that it would be easy. Wolfowitz said oil would pay for the reconstruction.

Hey brog, now you sound like Obama. What jobs did the stim create when the unemployment level went from 7.2% to 10.2%. He told Caterpillar employees that passing the bill they would would not loose their job. Caterpillar have closed plants now. He made crazy promises that have not come true. The stim bill is being used as a slush fund now to buy votes for other bills. It is a failure. To rely on govt to fix your problems is a sign of weakness. Iraq, what do you miss Saddam?

More jobs can be lost in the private market than are created by a stimulus. But that doesn't mean that jobs aren't created. Here where I am, there were many teachers that were going to be let go and the stimulus saved their jobs. Without that stimulus, things would have been worse. I don't miss Saddam. But, there are over 4K soldiers that are missed and about a trillion dollars that is missed all wasted to strengthen Al-Qaeda and Iran. It wasn't worth it.

So brogg, if you are a teacher at a public school then your salary is paid by taxpayers. The more money that is sapped from the private sector the more money for govt jobs. SEIU is a big supporter of Obama in that they have actually been accused of beating people up at 'tea partys'. Private sector is self sustaining, govt sector jobs need to tax to sustain itself. You can not confirm that without the stim bill things would have been worse. Iran- the war for oil argument is a stupid one.

The private financial sector was going to go belly-up and it was going to take most of the private market with it. And teaching is legitimate work and it requires funding. Private schools have a better track record than public schools which is why alot of inner city parents would love the voucher system. But the govt and the unions and the DEMs dont like that idea. The gov't had to bail out the private sector with hundreds of billions of dollars. Everyone knows this. I worked in the subprime business. Believe me, the loans were happily made by the banks. Public schools are the bedrock of American education. Without it, we'd be a third world country at this point.

Bush signed the bail out and McCain and Palin supported it. They all believed it was necessary. I'm telling you, I worked in subprime and banks were happy to throw the money towards bad loans.
