@andy32844 falsetto doesn't vanish with proper vocal technique. he might even still have it today but he had surgery and also smoke a LOT of pot...that plus age kinda killed off his falsetto. it doesn't really matter, his chest voice is still great.
@flobtheblob My great Aunt Meg is a professional singer and she still has her voice, so with proper vocal technique and care your voice can remain in pristine condition until the day you die. Age is not a factor. :)
@thehaverhillidol2009 we aren't talking about voice, we are talking about falsetto...and YES, age matters especially for a guy when it comes to falsetto. sorry, but it does. if you have falsetto now, try it again when you are in your sixties and i'm betting you'll end up with more of a croak than a well conditioned note. there are a few exceptions to the rule...one being steven tyler....however NO ONE can say he is guilty of PROPER vocal technique :)
@flobtheblob In order to sing correctly, you should feel a resonation in your nasal cavities, also known as a, "buzz." It feels like your cheek bones are vibrating. This is also true for your falsetto, although it is not recommended to sing your falsetto because it isn't your natural vocal range, and therefore is difficult even for professionals to sing it correctly. His excessive drinking and smoking problems killed his voice, just like it killed Frank Sinatra's.
@thehaverhillidol2009 it is. thats what i'm getting at ;) the voice is produced by an instrument of the body...just as blood pumps via an instrument of the body. it would be like saying the heart will remain in perfect condition from the day we are born till the day we die without ever changing, except for when we don't take care of it. cells are damaged and the aging process prevents pristine repair. the voice is no exception. every part of our body is subject to age, but you exclude the voice?
@flobtheblob He is 64 years old to this day and his voice is half of what it used to be, but my Great Aunt is 81 and she still has her full range AND falsetto, and she never drank or smoked. With that being said, with proper vocal technique and care your voice can remain in pristine condition until the day you die. Age is not a factor.
This is real good, but my favorite is the one from the muppet show. He had perfect falsetto. Sad he lost it from the throat surgery, but at least he still has his original piano playing. ;)

Never really liked Elton but after listening to a tribute act of the early years, I'm now starting to enjoy it. Amzing singer songwriter.

andy32844 1 year ago
@andy32844 He's not 47 in this video. It was 1984 so he was only 37.
He was born in 1947.

@thehaverhillidol2009 isn't that what i said? only difference is that i added age as a factor.
flobtheblob 6 months ago
@flobtheblob My point is, age is not a factor at all. Not even .00000000000000000000000000000000000001%. That's what I'm trying to get at.

Fuck you Reg, I'm not even going to humour you and call you "Elton" any more.
I was a lifelong fan. You are dead to me. You are a total CUNT to play for those murdering Israeli bastards.
Respect? ZERO.

Probably the best version I've heard of this wonderful track.
The tempo was slightly higher than normal, and his high notes are wonderful.
