  • It took a tremendous amount of work to build this section of track in the curve....

  • Nice, switcher behind a hopper, rare, a p5, and a cr engine to boot!

  • 10 a must be heavy to have 4 mann helpers

  • Thats strange! I didnt know that the DPUs could blow the horn too!

  • It wasn't a dpu the second to last engine was manned you can see his arm as hit hits the p5

  • Their manned Helpers

  • they are not DPU's out here in Pennsylvania on the Alleghany Mountains NS and CSX use maned helpers

  • i liked the the switcher in there betweent the 2 cars, and correction, the train is going eastbound, just to let you know

  • Cool RS3L horn!

  • Nice shave and a haircut.

  • Great vid. I was wondering if there is enough train activity to make a day trip to the area with the family? Is there anything else in the area of interest? Like amusements or museums or a fair?

  • There is a train musuem in the Town of Altoona just south of this curve. I was there 2 summers ago. Its a neat town and trains go by this curve numbering in the hundreds each day.

  • Nice RS3L buddy!

  • the train was kinda SP like i suppose, but if they where to truely be SP like, they'd have had a 4 or 5 unit swing helper, lol. SP & DRGW was known for their 14+ engine consists.

  • Dang that was long!

  • You know, that was probably NS at one of their finest moments. And you said it. Dang nice power on the head end. Their version of the SD402 is my favorite because, as your video dictates, they have so much pulling force. Did you ever notice how NS is so SP-like? That whole train was set up the same exact way SP did. And I thought those manned helpers kicked ass! But Norfolk Southern pretty much does that in their sleep! That was awesome!

  • What a MONSTER M-train!! That switcher sandwiched in there was strange!! Wonder if the 2 helpers on this train were the set headed up the curve on that previous video??? Great vid!!

  • wow lucky you caught a RS-3L!!! nice catch with the nice clean Ex: Conrail in there why was the Sw1500 or Mp15Dc doing in the train as the second car was it broken down and being towed to the Junita shops in Altoona? love that though!!! you really caught some sweet stuff! that NS for ya! beautiul video

  • WOW, nice to watch!! 5***** ... :D

  • Awesome vid, 5 stars!!!!

  • awesome vid

  • WOW! Interesting how after the first wagon there was a switcher. Very nice video!

  • WOW!! Sweet Video!! Awesome Shave & a Haircut!! On a RS3L TOO!! Dang, nice catch!!

  • wow!, there is a switcher behind the covered hopper? Is this a place to railfan for people to come and watch trains?

  • I drove there from Michigan (the guy in the red t-shirt in the video) and I plan on going back next summer.

  • You won't see that in California! nice shave and a haircut!

  • SICK!
