Well from what I understand it can burn wood all it likes but it just depends on the amount of energy going directly into your eye. I think this does its damage of how bright it appears to our eye. Correct me if I'm wrong but if it were red then I don't think it would by just looking at the beam.

You see, the issue isnt lethality, its the fact that a laser with enough power and focused right could put a hole through something an infinite distance away with no noise and no obvious evidence, where as your metal bullet would require a stupid amount of noise, explosive, evidence, lack of accuracy and is completely dependant on climate. And a correction, the laser could go through anything, your bullet can't.

Even more so, you obviously know nothing about lasers. Many of the lasers that are in use by the military can burn through 6 inches of steel. These are the kind of lasers used in airborne laser units built for taking down missiles.
