So revolving your life around a future goal is robbing you of experiencing the current moment which is all there really is. Sure destinations are nice, but lets not let our goals rob us of experiencing the endless possibilities of the current moment.

That's what makes it hippie nonsense. It's the same flaw in the brains of religious people. They say they are "feeling" god or whatever, and all they're feeling is an emotional attatchement to their beliefs or a feeling of belonging or connecting.

You can get the same feelings at a concert or from hyperventalating or from joining Scientology.

This stuff isn't real, it just feels real. That's why we have the scientific method- to get past our biased feelings and see what ACTUALLY exists
