I saw the Lyon concert on the river in 1986. The Pope introduced the concert while a growing red spot backlit the cross on a cathedral. The whole municipal lighting system was turned off in that part of the city for the projections and lasers. It was amazing. This video is the closest I've seen to it...just add thousands and thousands of people shoulder-to shoulder yelling and screaming. Thanks. (And to the person who stole my Lyon concert T-shirt from the hostel in Greece...I forgive you!)

Love JMJ but VERY disappointed with the "live aspect. I can play the album whilst setting off fireworks in my back garden, shut my eyes and get EXACTLY the same as this if I bang on my wheelie bin at the same time

They're playing together with a tape - but that's quite normal.

Thanks for posting this, used to have all his concerts on VHS, and then I moved to the US, and none of the tapes/DVDs that are available (other than the Russia concert) will play here, they really need to release them in NTSC format. Including his older videos.
