I would really love to get a nose job. My nose is what they call "aristocratic" or "Roman" and i don't like it at all.. I am very self-conscious about it and though others might say "you are beautiful the way you are", it does not help when the one who says it has a very attractive nose themselves.

I get that people are all against plastic surgery, but how on Earth is it different or "worse" than getting tattoos, dying your hair, putting on makeup-- hell, even putting your hair up in the morning? The entire point of all these rituals is to make yourself more presentable and to be comfortable with who you see in the mirror. On the differences between white ppl and Asian ppls noses, have you realized that white people have some of the largest noses compared to other races? Look at their side profiles. The proper term for a "typical" Asian nose would be a 'round' or 'flat' nose, because it doesn't stand tall or come to a point like white ppls noses. Some Asian noses are small and round and lack a nose bridge. I have enough natural Asian friends to notice this. Conclusion: different ppl have different noses. lol.

As far as I'm concerned, the idea of natural beauty and the social stigma against undergoing plastic surgery is just an ego-device used by some individuals who were born pretty to assert their so-called "genetic superiority". I personally applaud Xiaxue for not taking that kind of bullshit, and in due time, I most likely will be going for plastic surgery myself. Having an aesthetically pleasing body can be anyone's privilege, not just those randomly selected by nature to be born as such.
@melv1995 actually people with naturally born "pretty features" tend to have healthier genes. it's a fact widely supported by scientific study. looking for a pretty mate is essential in the evolution of human beings for the better. plastic surgery is in a way "destroying" that. but what we can hope for is technology being so advanced that we won't really need to worry about "genetic inferiority" in the future as everything will be fixable, not just an ugly face.

@melv1995 actually people with naturally born "pretty features" tend to have healthier genes. it's a fact widely supported by scientific study. looking for a pretty mate is essential in the evolution of human beings for the better. plastic surgery is in a way "destroying" that. but what we can hope for is technology being so advanced that we won't really need to worry about "genetic inferiority" in the future as everything will be fixable, not just an ugly face.

I would want a thinner and smaller nose but I don't want my nose to be hard and need to use different objects to pick my nose lol. (that would be a real pain during allergy season..)
And when you get an implant is it possible for it to move around while it's in your nose?

I know someone who actually had a pig's nose, it just ruined her job interviews and her confidence. In France, health care is free and her plastic surgery was considered a health matter because it ruined her personal life in general, so she received a plastic surgery to get a normal nose.

wait...perfect white person nose? :o( no such thing. i won't go into why 'their' noses aren't so attractive, but every race has pros and cons to their noses and other facial attributes. i just think that hollywood has made it seem like 'that's' perfection. but i know what la is about, i love living there, but there's a lot of scandal about what gets deemed beautiful and what gets left behind. i could write a book about how sketchy things are there. but! i do love la :o)

@chandrawahyu I feel like if you were really sorry, you wouldn't have posted that comment. Some things don't have to be said, and this woman is secure enough with her decision to explain to people who are ignorant to surgery.
That is not to say that I support her decision to get surgery (I don't, actually), but it takes courage to talk about it in a public place like Youtube. You shouldn't judge so harshly, no matter how you feel about surgery, because you've never experienced what she has.
