  • whyy did she switch the dismount?

  • I really think that Nastia should have stuck to the twisting. She is an amazing gymnast but I think maybe just do the double front in the gym for awhile until she nails it and then trys in competion. She chould be doing 3 twists if so then that would win her gold. She is an awesome gymnast but she needs work on bars and thats it.

  • she wasnt doing a twisting dismount before, she did a double layout.

and now that she does a double front half out its perfect almost everytime.

  • oh thats right. she was doing a double layout.

  • yeah its way better than her double layout was in 2006.

  • thats so true.

  • i think double front is not suitable to her ... right ?

she fall it many time by it as i know

  • same here

  • virginia deluzio

  • Great new routine.. she's always very innovative!!.. I agree with some of you, I dont like this new dismount though... she should try something different.

  • i scream at the dismount !!!! LOL ... great routine, great dismount so high !!!! i love nastia and i love to see her back !!!!

  • New dismount! all she needs is to polish it up a bit and her ruotine is golden!

  • i think it would be to hard for to do a twist because of the fact she does it with a major arch nd when u look at the people who did full twisting layouts thEY had a hollow double layout

  • I meant a twisting single layout. Shes a fast twister so she could probably get enough twists in to give her a D value (2 1/2) or even an E (3 twists)

  • that dismount don't suits with her, very cowboyed, a twisted layout, would be pefect

  • Yes, I think a twisted layout would be better too. She would only need to stop bending her body in the pre-flight

  • apparently she did a double front with a half at american classic. she may have been asked to play it safe for the team

  • Those deductions are knitpicking. In my book Nastia's double layout was great although I do recognize she sometimes bent her knees.

  • Yeah, I agree.. But when someone has been doing basically the same routine for a while, the judges know it by heart and where to find the deductions. You have to keep changing things up, to keep things fresh in this sport.. When people know your entire routine, they know exactly what to hit you on.

  • she has changed it up quite a bit within the past year, year and a half maybe. go watch her at 2005 worlds and her set is completely different. even if you watch her as recently as 2006 american cup or pac alliance the set is also different. she's added a release move, added ono to immediate half turn, connected that to a laid out geinger, and now invert to front double. but i agree that the judges know where to hit liukin, like on her double layout which is why i think she changed it.

  • i take your point - but what about svetlana kourkina - i mean she had the same routine for years and years and with pretty good scores all round..?

  • because Khorkina played to her strengths and nothing she did garnered much of a deduction, where as Nastia has a few elements that can be deducted significantly like that dismount

and Khorkina changed her routine quite a lot, actually

  • Her double lay was sometimes piked on the release and then arched, so shes not cerdited for the double lay. I dont think i like the double front. Maybe shes better suited to a twisting dismout(like elena gomez did) or a full in. A ma dismout like tessas training would be AWESOME too!

  • Its bad she landed so low.

  • diff. dismount then she always does i like the double layout better

  • The problem is that she has had the Double Layout downgraded to 'C' value on some occassions.
