Now that Leo has had his trike for a few months... we need to see the "Leo commutes to work on his trike" video! HAHAaa. I've had my trike for 6 months and love it. I try to commute to work once or twice a week. And had fun shooting a video of my commute!
Awesome, I had my first recumbent trike ride yesterday and loved it. Especially how fast you could go through corners.. it's like a go kart but healthier and better for our beloved earth.
I do own a recumbent bike, which I love too.. but trike's are just more fun. Would love to see some recumbent trike races on smaller circuits.. :)
Everyone? A helmet is not really needed on a trike, unless you hit high speeds. If you crash, your feet hit first. Ifyou fall, your elbows get scraped.
The US is the only country so preoccupied with being safe 100% of the time.
Leo, please take all these comments about wearing helmets and not riding on the sidewalks, getting lights and flags for your trike as a sign that people care for you! We want you to enjoy your trike, and stay safe so we can continue enjoying your radio and web programs! This is a good practical advice site about bike riding on the streets: bicyclesafe . com -- how not to get hit by cars -- have fun, enjoy your trike and be safe.
I commute to work 13.5 miles one way a few times a week on my trike... it is NOT too low or invisible if you follow rules of the raod, get a flag and lights. For one... STAY OFF THE SIDEWALKS... you will get run over by a car coming from a driveway! Second, Leo... get some straps or clip in peddles/ shoes or you will slip your foot on a peddle and hurt your legs! but other than that... it is a great, fun and reliable way to ride and enjoy riding!
It is to low to the ground. A car coming out of a drive way would never see you. I do like the general idea of sitting back to ride and the idea of three wheels is good so you can rest when you stop. Good for older guys like Leo and my self.
I saw someone riding one of those when I was delivering mail! They said it was a kit. It costs 6,000 bucks!!!

Ask someone to make a helmet with a TWiT logo.
I'll buy one.

Leo put a video recorder or webcam on the bike so we can experience the ride!

Put several TALL flags on the back Leo. Then they can't claim that they couldn't see you down that low. lol too cool

I vote for the webcam as well, that way if another jerk throws a bottle, you'll have the license number.
