  • Thank you very much....i thought i would never get it until i saw your lessons!!!!

  • haha i love how hes staring at the wall shredding like it aint shit hahahaha XD

  • @921musicman i thought he was just thinking "don't make eye contact"

  • thanks alot but how long will i take to learn shredding if i'm in this scenario

  • @bobashraf years, take this in stride and learn other things

  • 3:18 this guy sweats ALOT!

  • do you practise this to a metronome in 3/4 timing or in 4/4

  • pls help

  • hey... nice video and it helped me alot but i just wanna ask i have an acoustic guitar and i'm currently practicing on it and i dont have an electric guitar right now(but i'll get in the future) so when i play scales my picking speed is what u play at 2:23-2:25 so is it possible to shred on my guitar or do i need to have an electric to play what u played in the beginning of the video

  • @bobashraf The strings on the acoustic are much harder and twangier than the softer cleaner sounding electric strings. The action on the acoustic is higher so it might be harder to do it at the 12th and 15th fret positions. If it's too difficult, then shift the same same pattern down some frets and play it. If you start shredding on an acoustic, (which is hard), when you get an your electric it will make things much easier because of the softer strings/lower action.

  • Superb talent

  • What's the name of the guitar, looks a bit like a schecter blackjack.

  • wen u switch strings while in the middle of the first riff, is ur pick suppose to scratch the string, on the first upstroke

  • 1:08 - Cameraman preparing to jerk off.

  • how did you get your left hand to move so fast? because I'm feeling like the speed that i'm going is as fast as i'll get and i'm going really really slow.

  • is that you steve-o? how's the life of sobreity? ^.^

  • Kick ass man! Thanks for the free tips, u rock dude. Cool guitar aswell original ..

  • I applaude you, sir. Made my day!

  • i prefer economy picking - but hell yeah, this video just helped me to learn shredding! thank you so much :D

  • If one cannot play something slow, even tempo and articulate? They will not be able to play quickly. Walk before you run folks. This guy knows his stuff. Sooo many players try fast before truly understanding slow.

  • lol the sustain of that guitar is amazing...

  • Thanks man. This is the kind of instruction that actually amounts to something.

  • One of his skrews is missing from the neck pickup O:

  • very good lesson!

  • .....

he makes me feel lik giving up guitar

  • Fuck sake I've been trying to learn to shred for ages and I just can't build and speed can anyone recommend any songs to learn solos from?

youre one the best teachers on the net

  • what guitar is that!!!!! plz somebody tell me???

  • @mxboardguitarsnake5 electric .. you're welcome.

  • @FelixDeSuzaa not cool man.... not cool

  • I like how at the beginning he's like. Look everyone, I'm shredding the fuck out of this guitar while not looking at it!

  • why is alternate picking so important?

  • @ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD so you can shred?

  • @TheBestGuitarSoloEVR you can shred just by using downstrokes.

  • @ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD who can play 200 notes faster playing one string, someone using alternate picking or downstrokes only?

  • I'm find the picking on the low e and a strings hard. my thumb has to be sideways at the back of the neck....... any1 else have that problem?

  • @Liebecks

You could try angling your whole guitar upwards, kinda like a classical guitar player. Also, try keeping your fingers cupped. That's what works for me anyway. :) Maybe your guitar is a bit too small, though. Either way, practice makes perfect.

  • Yeah the intro shred, you look very.... bored lol

  • from the movie legion, michael the archangel

  • great lesson.. really - a lot better than some of the stuff I have seen so far. funny, the deer in the headlight stare when you go quick though..

  • just wanted to thank you so much for this lessson. i started usning muscles in my hands that i didnt use before , i can tel cause they are getting sore. im gettin alot better at my picking as well. thanks your a blessing in my life. rock on

  • yea hes pretty good

I be afraid to let you play my guitar

  • yea hes pretty good

  • please made a chuck schuldiner style lesson

  • This guy in awesome

  • another awesome lesson by an INCREDIBLE guitar player and a fantastic guitar TEACHER........bravo and thanks Dave!

  • what does this have to do with john mclaughlin....awful sound..

  • Dave Nassie as in Bleeding Through

  • a good addition would be the exercise, slash teaches, going down the harmonic minor scale. just browse youtube for "slash warm up", its a 57 sec vid. then you have one exercise going up the mixolydian scale, and you can directly go down the harmonic minor scale afterwards. sounds tasty and is a great addition to this one

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • He makes it look way too easy

  • I used to hold my pick at a angle but I found I didn't get as much emphasis from my notes and found it more difficult to play fast on the single strings, although it is easier to switch strings holding the pick at an angle

  • Wanna masturbate real fast? Ask him how )))))

  • when you play it at speed.......

  • this guy is awesome!!! cheers for a great lesson!

  • "I alwasy go for the instrument, not for the music" baaaaaaahhh

  • super!!!!

  • Who is he?

  • is that a schecter guitar ?

  • @LuKster138 no its a micheal kelly patriot active guitar. about 6 or 7 hundred dollars

  • i swear this is the guitarist fill in for the bleeding through anti hero video.

  • i hold my pick like you did at 3:00 will that work cuz i find really difficult to hold it at that angle

  • good player but he should be shot for liking bleeding through

  • I just wanted to say thanks for really braking it down.

  • bravo very nice thankyou

  • that guys a total badass

  • what is wrong with his pinky

  • why doesn't he mention muscle memory and the importance of being completely relaxed when playing fast? No one mentions it and its wrong cause without that knowledge youll get nowhere

  • THis guy used to be in NO Use For a Name

  • LOL He looks bored to death in the beginning !!!!

  • 4:55 = BRUTALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • @anonazero yea moving that first finger between the 10th and 11th fret is a pain

  • you're a good teacher man.

  • @Blue18242 all of the rock on good people guys are great teacher but this guy is all kinds of gifted at teaching.

  • Which amp is that?

  • thumps up if you thing he talks like Justin Long...

  • @rickyricardo2006 ha, sounds exactly like justin long

  • @DirtyPoopers Yeah, he sounds exactly like Justin Long.... who ever that is.

  • Very good clip. I just posted a new shred clip a few day back. It's gettin some buzz. YOU might like it!!! Cheers. -Demi

  • wanna know something i've always hold my pick opposite to that like instead of right oriented angle i have a left oriented angle on my pick which holds up great but with right it just feels differentes does it matter if it's left or right?

  • Your guitar looks even worse than your facial expression!

  • My arm just fell off :(

    Sweet lesson tho

  • not a fan of freakin 64th notes or whatever they were inthis video depending on the tempo (sounds like a broken video game to me), but the picking stuff was useful i suppose

  • Flying pinkie...

  • Duuude you look like M.Shadows ( the singer from A7x ) :)

  • You are the boss man. Been waiting for this type of lessons. Rock On!

  • @Petey0707 lmfao. Good job.

  • @SleepyDisso Yeah, I fucked that one up pretty bad xD

  • Don't do a lot for me im afraid, not a sound from a guitar that I appreciate.

  • this is a good lesson, but the sound of his guitar makes my ear bleed. Just a tiny bit. But still.

  • This guy is a very good teacher. He made it easy to understand a fairly complex lick.

  • how do you play so fast while moving your pinkie so far away.

  • about time you made some videos about shred guitar, thanks!

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • Please! Dont ever stop this channel, you guys are by FAR the best!

  • great lesson .

    rock on good people :)

  • for the 1st few seconds i though u were steve-o ahha

  • coolest lesson EVER

  • What make and model the guitar it looks amazing !!!

  • whats the difference between alternate or economy picking does it matter if i use any? when im playing please reply

  • @SeifIsInTheHouse Using economy picking you would pick every new string with a downstroke. This way you avoid "going around the string" with your pick to do an upstroke when changing strings and it also sounds smoother... This lesson was all about alternate picking though; in fact he was mainly focusing on using upstrokes when changing strings. Petrucci and Gilbert use altrernate picking. Malmsteen and Frank Gambale use mainly economy picking. Try to hear the difference. Hope it helped :)

  • You are the best player on rockongoodpeople

  • your hired!

  • hot damn!!! Ur like the Andy James of Lick Library

  • This video helped me out so much.

  • What's the model of the guitar?

  • Hey wot model guitar is that??

  • if you look closely there's a screw missing on his neck pickup.

  • Can you do some lessons on alternative tunings? like drop C and drop B?

  • paul gilberT?

  • nice sustain there...

  • Yeh mahavishnu orchestra!

  • Damn, he's fast.

  • I love how the video camera can't even process his fingers fast enough and cause a blur.

  • what thickness of a pick would you recommend for fast picking???

  • WHEN HE IS PLAYING IT IS LIKE HE IS LOOKING INTO MY SOUL

  • That guitar sounds a little out of tune...

  • @H057IL3

    no

  • First off this guy is great cant wait for more of his lessons.

Second, can anyone help me? i know nothing on music theory and really liked this scale, its pretty simple and cool (the first scale he used) but i dont know the rest of the positions (if thats what they are called?) of the scale or whatever he did in about 10:50 can anyone help me tell me what he did or how to move from a scale basically into higher or lower notes.

    Thanks, and again great lesson!

  • to me thats boring juust play 1000000000000 mph it gets old fast i love riffing and puting soul in to the music not just playing fast

  • @thetreverpitts Speed is everything

  • @thetreverpitts This is a lesson.

  • @qwertyuiop46853 yeah i no its a lesson i'm just saying people like yngwie malmsteen just play riffs that are like that and its not my style i never said the guy in the lesson was bad hes good player.

  • I didnt knot that steve-o is so fu*king awesome guitarist !

  • He's good, but take notice the shitty tone kids! Don't use EMG's..
