All the demos of this amp sound thin and tinny. Why can't Fender do a good high gain amp?!! Closest they got was the Prosonic, but that was too fuzzy. Hire Mike Soldano or someone and do it right!!!!!!
crazy right? Here's the thing, I dont think they were trying to make a high gain amp. Their problem is that they sometimes try to make a Fender-sounding amp that can also do high gain as opposed to a high-gain focused amp. It obviously doesnt work. I WISH it did. - kinda like asking a single coil PU to sound like a humbucker with the flick of a switch. EVERYONE wants that to be possible but it currently is not. But they still keep trying bless their hearts. : )
Just focus on building guitars that actually cost $300(American labour rate) then make it an artist signature model "Jeff Clapton/Eric Beck" and then charge $2500 for it.
At the same time abandon amp designs and philosophies that were great and make SS digital copies.
Methinks that the riff that he chose to use for the demo did not show the amp, the guitar, or the settings of both in it's best light. He should have played a slower tempo riff with some power chords mixed in and then we could hear what it's capable of. Many, many metal artist are rethinking the severely "scooped" EQ curve. Pulling some of the middle back in gives definition and character to the tone, as well as warms it up. This sounds cold, thin and bodyless. Will Fender ever learn?
@Phunkapotamus7 combination of race car seats and steering wheel grip texture.
I mean wouldn't be so bad but with the piping reinforcing the squareness of the look. On the whole the design is too busy n' boxy instead of being simple and sexy.Pretty much breaking fundamental rules of aestheics.
Cool name and it does not sound all that bad. I am sure a lot of people will flame me for praising this amplifier but it seems like a gooder. But then again guitar player complexes are pretty common especially in the metal scene.
Dear Fender: Please excuse all the so called "experts" below me and pay them no mind. They have no idea what is good or bad, so they automatically go for bad to make themselves sound smarter than they are. Going negative is much easier than positive. Just like sin is easier than fortitude. That is a fact of life, and a law on YouTube.
Scooped-mid tone.. YUCK, STOP THINKING SCOOPED MIDS ARE METAL. Any one who plays "Metal" knows, mids define you tone. THIS VIDEO PROOVES YOU WILL END UP WITH SHITTY TONE AND NO ONE WILL BUY YOUR AMP. ONLY GET FUSION PLAYERS TO DEMO YOUR HIGH GAIN AMPS.
Fender guys reading this, please take this to heart: Mid scooping sucks and you all know this, because the guitar's natural frequencies lie almost entirely in the mids. Scoop them, and you lose all the character, nuances, and complexity that a tube amp is capable of producing. I was really excited to hear about a new high gain Fender amp, until I saw this video. It sounds really bad. Please make a new video with good high gain tones and MIDS!!
@ConvoysToNothingness Though I agree with mids being the basis of my tones. I have loads of mids in my tones and pickup choices, but a lot of people (like John Mayer) preferred scooped mids. It gives it a kind of woofiness behind each pick attack, not necessarily bad. Tone is all relative. What's good to one person may be bad to another. We can agree on certain things and have a basis on what "good tone" should at least be. But I also agree. This video just sounds bad.
i have never heard an amp that cuts like this amp im going to get one

It sounds like Peavey distortion. Absolutely awful!

So I take it this is for a dude who does not want to use a distortion pedal in front of his Fender and who likes the look of race car seats.
