Nice one! Kudo's from Wieser Idaho! Nice job on the form, and everyone can complain about the slip ( but where are their videos lol) and debate about sword origins, but in the end, everything was really great. A lot of practitioners have poor stances, but yours were long and strong. As for HDGD's origins, I really don't care to all those debating, I have seen the same post on hundreds of videos. It's an effective sword art, no matter where it came from. Check out my 3-section staff form!
Slip or not, this form takes a lot of energy, accuracy, balance and coordination to perform. this master performed this form in an extraordinary manner. My hat goes off to you Master Tabone. Great job. Doksoori!
“Corea has no Samurai. She lacks what Japan has always had - a cultured body of men, superbly trained in both mind and body, the soldier and scholar in one, who held to a high ideal of loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice for country. “
Wonderful form! I was very suprised by the speed and accuracy; you've certainly practiced long and hard! Don't worry about the leg cramp on the roll. It has happened to every single person out there (whether or not we like to mention it! ^.~) Its alot better than doing your first two cuts and going "o.0 I don't remember this form" at a compeition for Grand Champion, I'll tell you that! Great work sir!
Boy some of you are funny. If any of you critical people ever competed, you know that no one is 100% all the time. So a slip on the roll- he didnt fall over and most everything else was awesome. The sound tells the cuts are right on. You should know- The sword is supposed to do the work not the user. Also HDGD has been embraced by TSD Mi Guk Kwan - When they compete in HDGD Tourny they wear the proper uniform. This is Weapons division in TSD Tourny hence the Uniform. Where is your Video?
For someone who has trained in TSD as well as HDGD, I would suggest that the honorable dan member please study the form a bit closer. The cut lines need to be observed more closely, as well as the stance work. Good job on the roll! That's one area I have trouble with as well. Please don't sacrifice quality cutting for speed and showmanship. Let the form speak for itself.
Watch how there is a complete lack of balance - his legs and torso are a frozen statue while all motion is isolated to his arms. There is zero power in every stroke save that provided by the weight of the sword AND his foot position and stances are not that of Gumdo which is why he can't balance the sword on any stroke.
Balance is the integration of the entire body - not just the resistance of falling over. Martial artists use the entire body in every motion, for the core is the most powerful source of energy. This is evident in every sport, from the football player making the long pass to the gymnast on the balance beam.
OMG! first of all its probbaly a katana, next its not "Dobok" its pronounced "Doe bak" spelling is "Dobak". Next the form is nto full of mistakes, their are only slight errors. God try to actually take this style before you judge.
wow strong words..this is one of my masters..you should reconsider your wording...your grammer is poor.. "teached him almost nothing" how about ...you taught him nothing....Master Tabone is the most intense Tang Soo Do Masters that I have ever met..please consider your words before you comment...and you you have no respect...no offense
nah I wont lower my words when I Witness such a thing, go to the aerobic championship but stop claiming that is martial art. He does that only like it's made in movie because people like you think because movie are flashy then it's real. You fail miserably. Go do something real, if you can.
you must not study Tang Soo Doo or those words would not be spoken..at any rate ...thank you kindly for watching our demos..yet... you should reconsider your response...you act as though you are a spoiled brat...you dont appreciate Tang Soo Doo because you arent familar with it...
Master Tabone is one of the strongest . most powerful martial arts practionors that i have ever sparred....trust me ..hes for real ..not an actor like you imply...any how Tang Soo!!!!!1
Well done in showing self-control. You could have stooped to their level and said terrible things. Martial artists (of any style) dont need to speak this way.
Hold your head up high and good luck on your journey.
BTW, I train in the Japanese sword and I thought this form was awesome.
Ssim Ssang. Very nice, I always struggle with the left shoulder roll.. (always practiced the right and not the left :) ). It looked like some moves were modified a bit - which Im all for, everyone prefers something different.. All in all, very nice :) PoWeRfUl!

your right..torso could move a little more

your wrong on the "power" thing as well
i was lost when looking for your video

That's Korean Kumdo , not Samurai
Closet that he wear is Korea's own closet "Dobok"

The video which is full of mistakes.
It's the Japanese sword which he has.
Korean who insults samurai's(Japan) spirit.
