  • Such a classic. Fascinating concept..

  • Guys, who cares what genre it is. It's awesome.

  • JF HOULE

  • @satan31337

    cool story bro

  • lock stock heart and soul!

  • this is mainstream dork!!

  • GTA 4 Radio :) Thanks ZIT :P

  • F*CK MAINSTREAM!

    PUNKS NOT DEAD!

  • @MCRXoXoIeroWay this songs fairly mainstream

  • @ismdism not to me..

  • @MCRXoXoIeroWay o sorry I didn't realize you were the one who decides what mainstream is.

  • @ismdism lol. im not. seriously stop it. i have an opinion and you've got yours.

  • thank you lock, stock and two smoking barrels for showing me this song!!!if you like lock;stock you should watch snatch...awesome

  • AWESOME

  • You other folk born after 1999 have got to realise this --and it is all to do with dope and at the time Iggy and everyone who was on the gear circa 1963--plus-- called it that and FITTS were altogether now etc in ANNE ARBOUR and elsewhere like lots of parts of California -But in good old Brisbane Australia and many other arts of various strange parts it was whatever --etc..,.

  • AWESOME! But I prefer Joan Jett's version...

  • @wivren Me too!

  • vietkong!!

    great game!

  • I Know it now it's 'Better living through Chemistry'.

  • OMG. Just realised QOTSA stole this riff for one of their songs.

  • awesome riff. also incidently reminds me of the scene in lock stock and 2 smoking barrels!

  • Well thats a big one..

  • mmm, this song makes me want to go insure my car so hard

  • this song is sexy. makes me wanna walk around naked.

  • they are always been more than modern! Also today they sund like "the future".

  • the guy with black hair is so hot...

  • The Exploited stole this riff in Troops Of Tomorrow.

This song makes me glad I have the ability to hear.

  • @LondonIrishRover it isn´t something new that someone stole some riff from somebody else :D :D

  • this song is fucking brilliant

  • man, the stooges own!

  • i don't remember where i heard this. But since i'm a kid, i sing this song into my head and now i'm glad to find it!!!! thanks blestemp and thanks yotube!!

  • Iggy Pop!!! :D

  • lock stock and two smokin' barrelsss :D

  • this is in Grand Theft Auto IV too! although this is one of the stooges less punky songs, its still one of their best.

also in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, should be the entire films theme song :) (y)

  • @RME207 also reminds me the scene from the movie "lock stock 2 smokin barrels" where the dooshe is in the red 500k in a card game exits the building and spews up outiside. this is the basis for the whole movie haha

  • this song reminds me of the game Vietcong if anyone had that :)

  • @dalluc - whomever said it was punk was incorrect to begin with. However, it certainly is an influence on early punk. Besides, there isn't many true punk albums that use a fuzzy guitar sound in their solo..... ; )

  • this was the soundtrack in the rnaways, when kristen stewart kisses dakota fanning..niice :P ♥ I WANNA BE YOUR DOG!!♫

  • I don't think that this is actually punk. Punk is supposed to be more light-hearted and revolutionary, this song is actually pure melancholly

  • @dalluc yea fag punk is light hearted

  • @FuckPeople91 Have you ever listened to The Ramones?

Well, they are the CREATORS of punk. And their music is undoubtedly light-hearted.

  • at 0:57 look at the face of the girls with glasses under Iggys legs! xD

    lmao

  • @TehCookieMobsta ... just sayin' you dont need to be complaining about it.

  • @TehCookieMobsta ...you dont have to click the button...

  • slayers cover of this song is pretty good

  • I love the guitar riff on this song :)

  • Oh man, now I know where I heard this song; Grand Theft Auto IV!

  • Nah i believe the first to start this movement(punk, heavy metal etc.) is Black Sabbath

  • @stefrockets Noope man. their first album is 1970 ;)

  • I love this song since I saw the runaways movie

  • Deka est un crétin qui ne connait rien à la musique. Go les Stooges.

  • fucking awesome !

  • aai am really honny today! Anybody is bored too and want to msg meh

  • this song is awesome-o n friday night lights

  • There was only one other band as brutal and heavy as the stooges in 1970 and that was Black Sabbath...

  • @Cryptorchild92 i beg to differ man

  • @shikariferrari258 Then whats your opinion?.....

  • @Cryptorchild92 deep purple and the less known band budgie i rekon there pretty up there for having a heavy sound and at sometimes brutal one to and there are a few others but i do agree with you that the stooges and sabbath had a mega sound :)

  • @shikariferrari258 Yeah i agree about deep purple and budgie... maybe blue cheer,MC5 and the velvet underground too could qualify...but stooges & sabbath are definitely on top of the list...Cheers...

  • @Cryptorchild92 yeh totally agree with u on that one man

  • yes

  • amazing -- even for a 20 yr old guy

  • not really punk but good!

  • @nananaalgoodaye It's proto-punk.

  • Prefer "I'm Gonna Be Your God" by Slayer...

  • omg did Ron Asheton die?????? I just wanted to listen to this song and I see these depressing comments

  • yep. this past Jan. 6...just when the Stooges were starting to get the mainstream recognition they always deserved...we'll always have their music though. RIP Ron. July 17, 1948 January 6, 2009

  • he was so underrated

  • Heard it on GTA4, I thought it was wicked, and the fact that its in lock stock is weird cause i love that film.

  • lock stock..

  • man this was way ahead of its time. I mean this came out in 1969 it sounds like it could be 80's punk music.

  • i definitely think stooges were the first punk rock band although there wasnt such thing as the term of punk rock at the time.

  • @RATTTHEPUNK Or the Stones ??? though yes the Stooges were no doubt the first punks

  • @RATTTHEPUNK I think their music is a bit too complex and rock'n'roll-ish to call it PuNk...in my opinion the first real PUnk band is the RAMONES

  • @jino666able Ramones...............fail compared to iggy and the stooges

  • @VanAwesome1978 musically probably...but the RAMONES are definately more inovative...I mean they created a whole new sound...there was nothing like the RAMONES at that time and then all the punk bands litteraly copied them...so I think it's not that big of a stretch to compare RAMONES and the STOOGES.

  • @RATTTHEPUNK probably, but the velvet underground realeased music before this that had punk elements to it also, like 'sister ray'

  • @saltybrah that's right, man!

  • @charlieenders alot better then any 80s punk music though

  • @charlieenders And if anythin like this came out now imagine how popular it wud be...

  • @charlieenders whos to put a label on it, either way it's a ripper of a track

  • @charlieenders always reminds me of the pixies

  • Im not ready to say goodbye to Ron Asheton.

  • "Sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes the bar eats you", THE STRANGER

  • "Well, sometimes there's a man and sometimes...THERE'S A MAN!"

  • see ya ron

    rip

  • ron you will be missed

  • RIP Ron. A true and underrated guitar god.

  • This riff will neva be beat Ron!God speed.

  • RIP

  • Good Bye Ron.

    So sad.

  • I'll join the chorus. First song I think of when I think of a song that sums it up best.

Saw Ig in '77 on his comeback tour with Bowie. Blew me away.

    RIP guitar hero

  • lucky you, id give my last pair of underpants to see the stooges and iggy live!

  • I am seriously gutted. Ron and the Stooges were something so ahead of their time. They made the impossible possible. They were BY FAR the greatest group of their time. RIP Ron.

Have a few on me in that great gig in the sky.

  • r.i.p. ron

  • no Stooges. no punk.

    very sad day for music.

    R.I.P. Ron...

  • Ron Asheton - Rest In Peace Bro,

  • so messed up ....

the riff at the beginning of this song says it all....

we lost one of the greats today......

  • RIP Ron.

    You will be missed.

  • RIP Ronnie and thank you.

  • R.I.P Ron :(

  • :)wicked

  • great song and a massively underrated band!!

  • I'm sorry, what was that? Under rated? What Bizarro land are you living in?

  • what i meant is that when people talk about the influential bands of the time like led zepellin, sabbath etc(rightly so), often stooges are left out. thats all i was saying.

  • People shouldn't share good music to every asshole they come across!

  • nice user name...
