@robdoubletrouble 4h6p4 means you pick the 4, then hammer 6, then pull 4. If it was pick-hammer-pick-pull it would have been 4h6 6p4. 4h6p4 is exactly as you said it is - In a flash. Hope this helps you.
i don't understand the "hammer on, hammer on, hammer on " thing... or "hammer on - pull off" ... do you have to do it in one move, or strike the chord for each hammer on and pull off?
@robdoubletrouble when he says like "2 hammer on 4" means you pick the second fret then hit that string on the fourth fret , while the pull offs you just pull off the finger from that fret and make it sound (don't really now how to explain it ) .
