I'd like to hear from a person who would be considered an expert at playing the violin. My question is, how talented is Mr Johnson regarding his ability to play the violin?
Back in 2002 I was visiting Chester and I had the fortune of coming across Ed busking, and bought one of his CDs. Unfortunately it got lost in a move some years ago. I loved that CD :/ But anyway, I still maintain that he is the best busker I've heard/seen to this day.
One only die's when they lose their Purity, their Soul, and above all, their Hope, for Hope guides all. In times of Peace, War, Desperation, and Fear, Hope rises above all Human Characteristics, it makes Humans... I randomly thought of this entire thing just from listening to this music, beauty =3

You say in your description: "Ed uses the looper and pedals to great effect. There are no overdubs." Isn't that what he is doing. Laying down a track, recording it, then playing it back and laying down another track on top of what was previously recorded?
Wikipedia describes Overdub as: "Overdubbing (the process of making an overdub, or overdubs) is a technique used by recording studios to add a supplementary recorded sound to a previously recorded performance."

Honestly i think Ed plays so much better live, i think that's shown in that cheeky grin he gives in this video. he looks up see's the camera and has a look that seems to say "you like that? well watch this!" he embodies the spirit that many "artists" seem to have lost these days.

When he hit the distortion pedal @ 2:29 my jaw literally dropped. I know what he is doing and it is no mistake why it sounds as rich as it does. He is hitting the harmonics and over tones on the string. Right at 2:31-32 you can hear the overtone jump an octave and squeal. He is pulling those squeals out of that thing like I have never heard. it is reminiscent of Uli Roths tone... just freakin SCREAMING. It is a shame he turned it down... it was so AWESOME!!

@jonnazz3 It's an electric violin. All he did was put some effects on it and loop it a bit. It sounds quite good, but it's not that impressive. He doesn't play particularly fast, nor does he play very emotionally. He didn't dance around much, so it wasn't visually pleasing. It was good, but not as great as everybody's making it out to be in the comments. Also, if the ones judging me can't even use proper grammar or make sense, then I don't think I've got too much to worry about
@foxfan1 Um music really isn't supposed to be visually appealing and playing violin isn't about playing like Niccolo Paganini all the time. And i think you should change your name to Mr. Violin Expert since you know so much. :P
@rljowers I'm just saying that it would have been nice for it to be visually appealing. I'm aware that music isn't about sounding like Paganini all the time, and this is very good (I feel like I'm repeating myself...) but it's not as amazing as everyone's making it out to be. I don't claim to be an expert on music, but I've been playing since I was a small child and I've got 5 instruments under my belt. Not to mention it's my opinion. I have a right to have an opinion and argue for it.
@jonnazz3 "proper grammar" is just as correct. Either way, it's way better than those comments from you before. No one cares about a slight mistake here and there unless they're trolling. When it's a huge mess of improper grammar and misspellings that just results in nonsense, then you need to properly use the English language.
@jonnazz3 Also, my music isn't on youtube because I don't have any equipment to record with. The only thing I could use is a crappy old camera with a broken mic, so it kind of defeats the purpose.

When he hit the distortion pedal @ 2:29 my jaw literally dropped. I know what he is doing and it is no mistake why it sounds as rich as it does. He is hitting the harmonics and over tones on the string. Right at 2:31-32 you can hear the overtone jump an octave and squeal. He is pulling those squeals out of that thing like I have never heard. it is reminiscent of Uli Roths tone... just freakin SCREAMING. It is a shame he turned it down... it was so AWESOME!!

@jonnazz3 It's an electric violin. All he did was put some effects on it and loop it a bit. It sounds quite good, but it's not that impressive. He doesn't play particularly fast, nor does he play very emotionally. He didn't dance around much, so it wasn't visually pleasing. It was good, but not as great as everybody's making it out to be in the comments. Also, if the ones judging me can't even use proper grammar or make sense, then I don't think I've got too much to worry about

@rljowers I'm just saying that it would have been nice for it to be visually appealing. I'm aware that music isn't about sounding like Paganini all the time, and this is very good (I feel like I'm repeating myself...) but it's not as amazing as everyone's making it out to be. I don't claim to be an expert on music, but I've been playing since I was a small child and I've got 5 instruments under my belt. Not to mention it's my opinion. I have a right to have an opinion and argue for it.

When it's a huge mess of improper grammar and misspellings that just results in nonsense, then you need to properly use the English language.
