You know what is funny, our town just had the space ship "rocket slide" part. But in other parks nearby, they had just the very opposite end part- the little hut with a slide and a ladder and steps.
I'm visiting Iowa to see family this month and will be driving very near here. I hope if I stop by this will still be up!!!
oOOOOOOooo the memories! Lincoln, NE belmont park we had one up thru the 80's. I had fallen off of the top of that winding slide, knocked the wind out of me and caused me to never want to go down it again! lol.... thanks for the memories tho! cuz I remember our's and it was TO A "T" as this one!
No, it's in Washington Iowa, this particular one. I'm sure there are others in other parts of the country, but this one is in Washington. But, yeah, it's pretty dang sweet.
I usually went up the long steel ramp to go down the rocket. Kids would even slide down the ramp itself. And the short slide on the end of the rocket would put you airborne! No wonder this slide was located at a Ft Bragg park.
we use to have that same type slide at a park here in Springfield, Ohio i remember playin on it as a child. about 10 years ago they got rid of it
