I equipped my home pub with great items from Kegworks. I haven't installed a draft system yet, but I know where to get it when the time comes. Thanks for treating me like a VIP. Cheers!
@y04bookerg what kind of question is that? i think you meant to ask "why is a kegerator better than cold canned beer?" so, to answer the question i thought you were asking, i will say TASTE.
@y04bookerg It's also a TON more expensive. Just in terms of crappy beer, the liquor store near me sells 30-packs of Natty for $20, and kegs for $60. That means you can get 165 beers for the price of 90.
@cmtegaravello - A full US Sankey conversion kit is only $169.95 - check it out here at KegWorks.com > Draft Beer Equipment > Kegerator Conversion Kits.
@TReXcuRRy I was thinking the same thing. Now if you want a nice frosty beer mug (as everyone should have) you have to open the fridge door and the freezer door at the same time... or have a different freezer for your mugs.
wait a minute so why do you need a fridge in the first place? i mean u can prety much just build a box and decorate it and throw the keg in there with ice right
Keeping the tank upright is important for safety... If a tank falls on its side while the valve is open, that can cause liquid C02 to run into a keg, where it can quickly expand and rupture the keg.
CO2 can not be in liquid form unless under greater pressure than a tank can handle, and lower temps than a normal fridge can achieve, or am I mistaken?
You must renforce the bottom of the fridge too! I have broke the bottom of a fridge out because of the weight of the keg. I cut a piece of 3/4 plywood, and placed in the floor of the fridge.
The tap should be lower so when you open the freezer it won't knock the tap open. I prefer the fridge's with freezer on bottom, harder to horse the keg into it but more convenient to tap a brew.
If you live at high altitude you will need more co2 pressure, temp also plays a part in how much pressure you need, lower temp less pressure etc. Example with 36 f beer temp at sea level I would go with 12 pounds. At 6500 ft I would need more like 18 pounds to pour a perfect beer. I assume the kit already comes with correct line length etc. Also I would recommend using 1/4 tailpiece fittings (not 3/16) on both ends of beer line, this will make it so all beers will pour well.
How long can a keg last in there before going flat ?

Nice kit, but note at 0:32 sec into the vid the faucet was mounted too high!!! Freezer can't open...oops!!
The Leland FridgeTap video mentioned that, little diferent CO2 set up
co24sale 2 years ago
Because that is the only way it works rober.
You can also drill through the side of the fridge - that works out better IMO.
Also don't forget to shut your CO2 off after the keg goes dry.
and always flulsh your line and clean your faucet twice a year.

why should the co2 be upright when dispensing

@bterveer Very good point. It is important to make sure the weight is distributed evenly across the bottom of the fridge
