You're being so delusional! First of all, not EVERYBODY can ride a pedal bike everywhere, do you know how many people work in Moncton that live out of town? And what about codiac transit buses and garbage trucks? They have to make many stops, and you said it yourself, the center lane is not a passing lane, so how are cars having to start and stop helping out the environment? It's not, it's even worst! And a lot of bikers don't even follow the rules of the road, it's f*ing frustrating!
@ninise This is now a non issue. As for someone pulled over to make a quick delivery, I've got no issue with that and I don't think anyone else does. The mail is still being delivered, the garbage is still being picked up. OBVIOUSLY, you can swing out around a parked vehicle as long as no one is in the turning lane. I live on the Salisbury Rd, the traffic has slowed down and I hope all the annoyed "out of towners" will by-pass us all together by using the either the 4 lane or the old TCH.
Bicycles shouldnt be allowed on the Road PERIOD, its ridiculous, there are no bikes using them and when u follow a bus your stuck behind, Time is Money people time is money
@ballain1 stuck behind driving the speed limit until the bus pulls over & then you pass. I'm not a cyclist but I can tell you that the reason they don't drive on the Shediac & Salisbury roads (in the past) is because of the "time is money" people weaving from lane to lane (not anymore) to save 1 or 2 minutes max. There has been no congestion resulting from these changes. Only order replacing morning chaos in my neighborhood. Slow the f&%k down & save your speed for the highway.
@briancormier It was just after 7:00 pm. I'd hoped to try it some morning around 8:30. The single lane should divert any unnecessary traffic to take alternative routes. Lots of traffic on Salisbury Rd. that could easily take the old T.C.H. or the newer 4 lane in from lower Mtn. Rd. and beyond. There may not be as many options for the Shediac Rd. but if this works the way it's supposed to, traffic will move in an orderly fashion and the people who need to turn will take the centre lane.
I missed the Salisbury Rd. Bike Lane meeting tonight as it was my son's birthday. I dropped by just as people were coming out. I talked to a lady outside afterwards who said there was some kind of protest planned for the next council meeting. I asked her what the main concern was & really got little other than someone might let their young child drive in the bike lane??? Did I miss anything else? I asked another guy outside and his reply was lots and then dead air. Help me out here!

The amount of traffic shown in the video is not reflective of the true amount of traffic during peak times of the year from September to mid-June.
