Cats can sleep with their eyes open because they have a "Third Eyelid" that comes from the corner of the eye and moves sideways across the eye. You can see Rara's third eyelids as she falls asleep starting at about 2:30. Even though the regular eyelids are open, the Third Eyelid covers and protects the surface of the eye.

But it is creepy. Close your eyes properly please, Rara. :)
