She became a human sacrifice. To the people of her culture which disappeared hundreds of years ago, this was not 'murder' as we perceive such an act, but it was a religious ritual that was important to them. She was obviously under stress and felt an agonizing fear of death.

The oldest mummy is of an infant who died when he was 8 months old. He was from Peru and his body is 6,500 yrs. old. He has all of his hair and it is a reddish brown color. He is also very well preserved. Amazing because this girl still has her features. It does look like she's sleeping.

There were 3 children found on this day,all 3 walked about 700 miles across the dryest desserts on the planet to be sacrificed to the Inca gods. there motheres went too,knowing well that the children would become Gods in themselves. one of the children was hit by lighting 4 ft under ground due to a silver crown on the head. half of her face was burned. sad sad story,,all 3 kids were under the age of 16. All to please the Inca Gods.

@01ViolinGirl10 she died from an over dose of coco leaves and alcohol. the coco leaves were given for headacks at high altitde as these children( 3 of them) had to walk 22 thousand feet high atop a mountain where they were sacrificed.

@6o2tallguRL the findings are not in yet but large amounts of blood found on one of the children shows that internal bleeding had occured. alcohol and Coco leaves were also used . The coco leaves to help breathing at high altituded. They were all found at 22 thousand ft. Sacraficial kids to the Inca Gods.

I'm so glad I wasn't around back then because if I found out as a child that I was going to be sacrificed for the gods.. I would clearly run away and not look back. I would not sit somewhere and freeze to death..

they're actually just normal ones. they were selected in replacement of the leader's kids who were originally the one that should be sacrificed. it was a year long journey to the mountain and along the way, they were fattened up to be suitable for the gods. they were wrapped tightly that one of the kids' guts were crushed so they couldn't move and drugged so they cannot escape while the one who sent them leave.. that's the gist of the article i read about them
