The Kingdom of Denmark may be small, but they have jurisdiction of Greenland, the world's largest island. On June 21, 2009 (2 weeks after the EU elections), Denmark granted Greenland "country" status within the Danish crown & are the last European colony on the North American continent. On the same day, another Danish territory: the Faroe Islands in the North Sea was also granted country status for the Faroese with further autonomy. The Faroes has its' own post office to publish legal stamps. +
