I would stick with the hard boiled egg because of the salmonella.I do recomend feeding the Tegu in a seperate enclosure like a empty bin or you might have some big problems with him being to aggresive when you want to put your hand in the enclosure.

aggression like that means he was left hungry for too long and/or he is competing with his enclosure mate for food.

It might help to just crack a raw egg for the little guy instead of hardboiled. thats how I got my tegu so big so fast.

nooo way. My monitor gets very agressive everytime I feed him pinky mice. certain foods drive him nuts no matter how hungry or how full he is

wow, did you not feed him for awhile?? The feeding response is normally pretty aggressive, but he shouldn't almost attack your hand.
