To be honest, if I were to listen to this without the info, I probably wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't John Bush singing. This just sounds like him all over again. I hope now that he's out of the band, they bring back someone more like Joey or Neil Turbin.

There are only two things he does differently: he actually does the middle scream fairly well, which was never Bush's strong point, but he also adds in all these unnecessary growls, which I'm really not a fan of AT ALL.

I agree with the comparisons to Phil Anselmo, and I actually like Anselmo, one of the best metal vocalist in my opinion. But Anthrax will never be the same without Joey, Anthrax is just best with Joey, and no vocalist for Anthrax could ever top him.

Joey was good and to me will always be Anthrax, but he has an ego. (OMG an ego in the world of ROCK!?!?!?!) Wish they all could have held out together longer for the reunion, I never did get another chance to see them all together. Headbanger's Ball tour in da 80's was one of the best concerts..best was actually Kreator and Coroner at Peabody's Downunder.

this situation isnt much different from exodus's current status with dukes. decent replacement, but will never be the same. joey slays and yes, his highs are great. he's also more successful than you will ever be.

pantera was good and phil is a solid vocalist but in this case, for a song like Madhouse, that's not a good thing.

Im not going to say Dan's better than the other singers, for all of them have their own positives. Joey was an amazing singer, John was a little bit heavier, and made anthrax more like Pantera, Dan is a combination of both, because he can sing cleanly, as you can see in this video. But, unfortunately, until they release new material, they just seem like a cover band right now.

I was hoping they would play some of the new stuff they were working on. I heard they did some at the Chicago Gig. Maybe because they were limited to an opening slot, and Irvine strictly enforces their curfew, they coouldn't play everything. Dan Nelson has a great voice, alot like Bush and Phil Anselmo. I know John, and was dissapointed that they didn't ask him back. I always felt Joey's voice was weak live.
