  • Three words for you: What the fuck?

  • This is one of the best storylines ever.

  • I'm so glad I'm not high right now.

  • uploaded on my birthday

  • Did you use the Game Genie infinite EXP cheat?

  • @jjm239 No, he corrupted the savegames at the beginning which allowed him to do all that glitchness later.

  • @sikthehedgehog Well then the RTS version of this video should have the infinite EXP cheat, because it warps you up to the highest level after one fight and gives you all the magic and etc you'll need, while one-hitting every opponent you run in to.

  • @jjm239 You aren't allowed to use cheats in a RTS/TAS

  • @leoz96 And glitches are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. Glitches are a bigger cheat than cheat codes.

  • @jjm239 You don't get it, a TAS consists of finishing the game as fast as you can only using IN GAME FEATURES, those are the rules for a TAS that have been established for years already, AND according to the rules, you can't use in game cheats either. Also, the point of TAS's is to show the player's skills, using cheats isn't a skill in my book.

  • @leoz96 Not the skill of the player, but to show the limitations of the game, exploiting them to beat the game faster.

  • No, I did not enjoy this.

This is not a TAS, this is pure garbage.

  • Bitch I have time travel. Shits easy

  • Ummmm....

  • What the fuck just happened.

  • Imagine Lavos looking upon this madness from how lair below, thinking to himself "Whaaaa~? Humans be crazy."

    And then he died.

  • And that's how Missingno saved the future world from Lavos.

  • what did i just watch?

  • @tiosopaman the meaning of life

  • What?

  • I'd like to see someone speed run this with legit 100% :).

  • @EliroX904 there is one already

  • THE VERY FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE FROWNS UPON YOUR SHENANIGANS!

Me personally though? I got dizzy trying to keep up...

  • fake

  • @shizeninho Nope.avi

  • Moral of the story: fuck around with time enough, and suddenly Chairs are committing high treason.

  • I have no idea what just happened, but it was good... I guess. xD

  • My face just fell off

  • The end credits made far more sense than the rest of the video.

(Also note how Frog, [The character, not the one in the end credits!] makes no appearance at all!)

  • @MettanAtem "Sir Not Appearing In This Game"

  • I'm 12 and what is this?

  • @piratebuns a game that can now be referred to as a bench mark title that brought gaming closer to art. This video is a dedication to the attention and sense of connection people have for this piece of nostalgia. You should totally play it!

  • I..there are no words. This is the most entertaining thing I've ever seen. And Magus left Robo to die! Haha!

  • 22:22 When I played the game myself far back then, me and my friends noticed the shadow of the Lavos Bit and had the theory that this was the true Lavos - after all, in battle it couldnt be hurt at all. Nice TAS btw, Lavos getting killed by garbled symbols ought to be a bit embarrasing for it.

  • What the Christ just happened!? Seriously, is there some sort of an explanation for this, hopefully written for the programming-ignorant masses? Because... just... DAMN!

  • @valmontdracul TAS : Tool Assisted Speedrun ;)

  • Nothing like making the game have a slow, painful stroke to your own benefit. Duplicating items, graphic errors. I love it.

  • My favorite part is how he skipped the trial. He continued the game from a flashback scene... Somehow that kinda makes sense in a game like this lol.

  • all that glitching gives you a lame ending.

I do like how Chrono's stats look like the Quadratic formula exploded at 12:30

  • Comment removed

  • @xmane22 Nobody said it's simply a speedrun.

  • @xmane22 No, the game isn't "hacked". It's the original, unmodified game. And yes, the *game* is glitched (a TAS cannot be "glitched"; what would that even mean?) Games often contain programming errors which can be exploited, even in unassisted speedruns. In fact, many unassisted speedruns do abuse glitches whenever possible. Is that "bullshit" as well?

  • @xmane22 No.

  • @xmane22 it's not a hack, you should read UoBtExFODA comment below. He's just exploiting some 'development faults'.

  • @xmane22 Excuse me, dumbfuck, it's called a TAS. Tool assisted speedrun.

A tool assisted speedrun is made on an emulator using savestates and slowdown to try to complete the game as fast as possible using glitches and exploits. There is no hacking of the game.

  • FEAR THE LAZ0R NIPPLES!

  • jeez magus should really lay of the sugar

  • 10:43

My face while watching this entire thing.

  • This speed run is poetic.

  • All this glitching makes sense for a time traveling game. You're making rips in space and time with your incredibly quick shenanigans.

  • hey, are there two Missingno in 21:12?

  • Tick. blip. doo doo doo doo, blip. reapeat.

  • I just don't understand how this guy figured out all this... This is crazy!

  • Why can't I hold all these Copper Helmets and Cronos?

  • can anyone explain what was happening in the first 4 minutes? then can we thumbs that person up?

  • @thomasalright The first four minutes or so are using an item duplication trick.

  • Normally, I have a general idea what is going on in a TAS, even if I don't fully understand why (ie, all the damn time)

This, however. I don't have a clue. Not a single one. Not even a sniff of a hint of a clue. wat.

  • Insanity like this is why I love watching TAS videos.

  • Never had so many mindfucks watching a TAS...

  • Wow, even TAS's of rpgs require grinding.

  • This is how i played the game on my first run

  • Wow, that was REALLY confusing...

Has anyone ever tried a speed run without glitches?

  • @grampaglasses speed demos archive pl0x//

  • @thidritoboladao

    As in TAS speed demos?

TASvideos (DOT) org has enough content to keep you entertained for a long, LONG time.

  • @bensons999 speed demos archive doesn't have TAS videos, only legit gameplay on console, tas are cool to see, but he asked for something "without glitches", and those glitches are only possible in a TAS run.

  • 突っ込み所満載すぎるw

  • Time and space are no obstacle for Seizure-Magus! Seizure-Magus is strong!

  • Watching this without knowing about a single bug in Chrono Trigger is one hell of an experience.

  • *twitch*

What in God's name just happened?

  • still loving that credits music

  • I can't tell what is happening at the start, duping stuff? It looks sped up.

  • WTF?! This broke my brain! o_O

  • this game has a more enjoyable story line if you try and change everything, cause theirs alot to do

  • omg that remind me i still must complete chrono trigger but i think i can't beat it in over 20 min it's for more like 20 hours times 2

  • I don't know WHAT the fuck is going on

  • how time wasted this guy in his life for do this ??????????

    sorry for my english

  • @SirLoquendero90 Over 2 months.

  • apparently lavos has zombie status

  • My brain is so full of wat...

  • The hell did I just watch? That floppy drive character in 11:40 looks awesome too.

  • Ok...... wait, WHAT!?!

  • haha, I'm really not sure about watching this one.. But... I want too :(

  • ... What did I just watch?

  • Crono used Transform!

    Crono transformed into Missingno!

    Missingno used ASDGAHAWTHJA!

    Wild LAVOS CORE died!

    Missingo Wins!

  • X_X.....

  • is this a new game+ run? were you able to exploit glithces to acquire all characters in the first run? if it was new game +, wouldn't it have been possible to challenge lavos at the fair right at the begining?

  • @nojetleft i dont think it was game+. to get from the fair to lavos in game+ there is a blue shiny thing on the right teleporter at the fair which i didnt see in this video. so i think its normal new game

  • why does using a glitched elixir kill the final boss?

  • @thepsyn when a character with the Green Dream is defeated, he automatically revives. when two RNG conditions are satisfied, the game temporarily considers him as dead. if the other two characters are really dead at that point, he becomes unable to use an item on enemies instead of himself. If you use an Elixir on an enemy and the sum of its current HP and the HP heal is more than 32768, that causes overflow and does instant kill. Lavos has 20000 HP

  • can someone explain to me how this works or what's going on?

  • @styx You can skip events by a well timed pause. Saving games occurs over multiple frames, if you reset at the right time when saving, a glitched half save occurs which can be loaded by bypassing the corrupt save message. This allows item duplication. By having the same item in 96+ slots, you can access game memory registers to pull any item.

You can glitch characters out of your team by moving away when saving. The next point the story calls a dissapeared character, you warp to that save point

  • "Disturbances of the space-time continuum have increased recently. Far too many folks are just popping in here..."

    "Oh...sorry about that"

  • This is so amazingly confusing.

  • @06Cowboys07 The objective is not to break it, the objective is to discover what is the fastest possible way to beat the game without hacking or gameshark. These are in-game bugs.

  • @UoBtExFODA How are you doing that so fast!?!?

  • @UoBtExFODA what would happen at 14:32 if you didnt switch to robo?

  • @06Cowboys07 Does understanding how rain works make it any less awesome?

  • Lol @ how the trial scene slowly pans down to.... no one at the stand.

  • i dont remember fighting a lavos core in the ds version

  • @linzig32 Go check again.

  • Ow, my sanity.

  • I lol'd when Chrono fell screaming "Eeeeeek!"

  • Hahahahaaha aaaahahahaha... See, it's funny because Lucca is a dude after all.

  • THIS IS OVERKILL.

  • 21 hours?

  • @Rezorok7 21 minutes

  • I love how the glitchiness gets more and more ridiculous as the run goes on, culminating in a mass of bad sprite data one-shotting Lavos with a heal. It's like reality itself is gradually breaking down over the course of those 20 minutes.

  • @Spleener12 Sounds like Chrono Trigger to me.

  • My question is this: How much difference does having played chrono trigger make in understanding what the fuck is going on in this speedrun? My guess is not very much.

  • @00Eregos00 Not much, really.

The way the game normally works you can engange the final boss about 5-10 hours in. You'll obviously get crushed if you're not on new game + (where you start over keeping all your stuff from the previous clear, and are actually allowed to go to the final boss right at the beginning if you want) but you can do it. So he basically just glitches his way through the first 5-10 hours of the game and then glitches the final boss to kill it.

  • @00Eregos00 Nope, it doesn't. He glitches his way through the entire game, fucking things up so badly along the way that healing insta-kills, and dying doesn't matter. Oh, and Magus has all the levels. All of them.

  • @Gamiac

    Yeah!!!!!!!! ::::D

  • 14:35 - 15:17

Wow, Magus is a sadistic doosh.

  • 21:45

Lavos: HOW COULD I LOSE TO MISSINGNO!?!?

  • @SwitheKun By getting healed so much that the HP went to negative value, resulting getting killed.

  • @artman40

...no offense but I think you missed the point.

  • wtf just happened

  • UM WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THERE MAGUS

  • Jesus.

Lavos might destroy the world, but at least he doesn't twist the very fabrics of existance so much they tear in half.

  • Um... what

  • i am so lost...

  • best game ever

  • I love when a game gets broken.

  • You know what REALLY disturbs the Space-Time continuum?

    This speedrun!

  • Looks like this speed runner was...

    Out of time

    *YEEEAAAAAHHH*

  • I... don't know how the hell you found all these glitches, but this is some completely insane stuff. I feel both, impressed and completely pissed off.

Impressed with your skill, your constant testing, all the work that it must have taken to somehow glitch Magus through walls, people, and even the space-time continuum.

But, I am completely pissed how badly the game was thoroughly abused, just rubbed me the wrong way...

    Good run anyhow.

  • Wow, if anybody played the game like this on a console, I bet the system would explode!

  • The chancellor's face at 10:45 = me during this entire video

  • I think my brain stopped processing what was happening about 30 seconds in.

  • Hehehe, a damage dealing elixir.

  • 01:22 What r u doing? o_o

(By the way, does anyone know if this game is in Korean? if so, does anyone know where I can get a Korean ROM of it?)

  • I dont know if you are a genius or a mad scientist

  • lucca: damnet crono stop messing with the inventory your starting to rip space time!

crono: but look at all the shinies were getting by doing this!

    crono turns into marle

    magus: dumbass.

  • The "eat my ass emulator" would have worked perfect for this TAS. You should download the "eat my ass emulator" if you really want to get it done right. If you can't find it just shoot me an email saying you want to eat my ass and I will let you know where to download it at.

  • I don't understand the people getting down on this video...I've probably beaten this game a good 50 times since 1995, so I get the whole 'play the game on your own' thing but...this is fascinating. Really, really enjoyable run.

  • wow. never before has re-arranging ones inventory been so.. world saving.

and the ever beautiful "corridors of time" playing during credits. this TAS was a pleasure to watch. thank you.

  • And the winner is...

MISSINGNO.! Uh... talk about tearing the game apart and running its code through a shredder! I guess time travel has some truly strange effects when abused.

  • @browncoatkevin guess Crono didn't knew about Time Paradoxes

  • not a real speed run...

  • @Godslayer1090

That's why it says TAS in big letters smart one.

  • This guy is... The MAN!!

  • 1:48 - 1:52

    Sweet mother of jesus.

  • Lol, this run is like two camels in a tiny car.

  • I know RPGs have some strange storylines, but this makes absolutely no sense. characters appearing out of nowhere, replicating themselves without a reason and breaking the fabric of the universe.

  • Chrono Trigger The Abridged Series: In this series, Magus is even more badass than ever: he can glide thru walls, teleport to wherever he wants, leave robo behind to be beat up, and tricks spekkio by pretending to run around the room. He also goes to 1999 AD by himself and single handedly defeats Lavos's Head offscreen.

  • @bicfarmer LOL

  • This game is about a kid who can shapeshift who meets a girl at the fair who can duplicate herself. One of the duplicates is sent back in time, and the shapeshifter convinces his friend to send him back as well, but he chickens out at the last minute. Another clone goes back to the castle, where the chancellor accuses her of being kidnapped. She plays along, and the insane chancellor puts a chair on trial. The shapeshifter sends his consciousness back to the pass a la Ellone from FF8...

  • Thanks to the efforts of Crono/Marle/Magus, there are now four Marles, three at the fair and one in the past. Marle was then framed for kidnapping herself but managed to free herself by implicating a bystander and, while in disguise as the "wicked" Magus, escaped to the future with her/him. Marle dicked around the end of time, then drank some tainted bucket water, and hallucinated a glitched Pokemon battle with a giant space flea.

... It's no wonder Chrono Cross happened.

  • @FateJHedgehog

    BEST COMMENT EVER!

  • @FateJHedgehog how do people find these bugs?

  • *Takes off glasses* My god...

  • LOL

  • Well, that was rather insane run.

  • What that bug abuse that so cool how did you make that

  • Of the TAS' I've seen, this looks to be the least fun.

  • Lavos killed by weird pixels and healing.... Now I have seen everything

  • what the fuck did you do? stick your dick into the SNES cart?

  • This is the most fucked up TAS run I've seen yet. Major props to the creator for breaking the game so effectively.

  • Trial in absentia.

  • The Endzz

  • uhh... a-yup.

    Wait, what just happened?

  • this is so mindblowingly awesome

  • Even Lavos couldn't destroy the very fabric of time and space this much!

Well...you know what they say...fight fire with fire.

  • I distinctly remember seeing the do's and don'ts with Tas.

I'm also pretty sure "Make your Tas enjoyable" was highranked in the do's part.

Anyway, CT just isn't meant to be presented like this.

Glitching through the wooden logs at the start is one thing, saving and resetting the console another. The one thing was resulting in me thinking "Didn't know you can do that."

The other was boring to watch and looked like a grinding process (Manipulate luck) recorded. Watch WoW someone grinding, same.

  • @cdesy I found this highly enjoyable! If you know the game, this is lots of fun.

  • @peachsynapse I agree. I liked it =)

  • Those poor jurors.

"Hey, do you see anyone on the stand?"

"No, I'm pretty sure these guys are crazy."

  • Even the fastest TAS for Chrono Trigger still can't skip the damn court scene.
