  • At the 1964 New York World Fair a of President Lincoln gave a speech and they had a walking robot of President Kennedy who did not speak but it did walk around the stage.

  • I love how the sky turns into a flag!!! Makes tear up!!

  • @GMYellowstone Throw up you mean, Jingoism is so unpleasant.

  • @mur38 A person like you might throw up, because YOU are so unpleasant.

  • We have to memorize it for our class, so I was watching this and the words aren't exactly right and it messed me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they retired this version of the Animatronic. Disney Imagineering built a new one .

  • I could never get into this version. Royal Dano's voice to me is Lincoln's voice. The new guy has a southern drawl, seemed wrong for a man from Illinois. The compilation of speeches combined in the Royal Dano show from the '80's introduced me to many of Lincoln's thoughts and words, whereas this presentation only focused on one (if I remember right). I don't think anyone is a "moron" for finding Royal Dano's version superior and seemingly more accurate. No matter what, Disney loved Lincoln.

  • Royal Dano's voice sounded much better for Lincoln.

  • THANK YOU, i AM THE 7TH ANGEL ALSO KNOWN AS THE RESCUER, THE VOICES ARE SPEAKING TO THE PEOPLE TO RESCUE THEM. I am the Bolt, the mighty flame. Thanks for sharing, I will use this for the ALL on my facebook, to proclaim the Messiah. Cynthia Holman Little is my name on facebook.

  • Rumor has it that if this place ever caught on fire Abe lincon will fall into a fire safe place so he won't burn

  • September 11, 2001

  • One of my favorite attractions

  • I know a guy that stops by at my work from time to time that used to work at Disneyland. He told me about one time during the Abraham Lincoln segment where during the speech, one of the robot's hydraulics went off so it made a loud noise that sounded like a gun going off. The robot then slumped into the chair. People thought that it was his assassination and that it was part of the show. XD

  • There is talk of bringing back"Great Moments With Mr.Lincon"with another actor doing The President's voice..since the first actor.Who did the voice Mr.Dano is long gone.

  • I'm glad they give out earphones now. The last time I went, several attractions were ruined because people don't understand the concept of being quiet so everyone can hear.

  • Yes it is coming back for sure! YAY! it will still be at the opera house on main street and should be in some time december they dont know the exact day but it will be in december

  • beleve it or not disneyland is bringing it back in 2009

  • this is such a powerful presentation, I shed a tear everytime when Lincoln whispers in cunningham's ear both in his office, then when he says "you must live", omg, I'm about to tear up thinking about it. And I'm not much of a nationalist, but I swell up with pride at Lincoln's famous words.

  • wow this is impressive stuff!

  • ITS COMING BACKK!!

  • Where!? When!? same place?!

  • Its coming back to Disneyland at the end of year in celebration of his 200th birthday. Its at the same place.

  • It's amazing how they got Mr Lincoln to sit down and stand up.

  • It's a shame that the Disney folks cannot get the Gettysburg Address right. While the figure looks good, the voice does not sound right for Lincoln. But hopefully Disney will return the ride this year for the Lincoln Bicentennial.

  • What did Lincoln's voice sound like?

  • What neklaus2 is referring to is that the actor Royal Dano did the voice for the original Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln for the World's Fair and when it was at Disneyland. It was a perfect voice and much more emotional and touching than this (most would say definitive voice). Try to find it somewhere on the net, it will be worth your trouble. When it was decided to change the speech the original actor had already passed away, this doesn't compare at all.

  • actually you can find it on You Tube by typing in Royal Dano Lincoln.

  • It was actually quite high pitched. Very folksy according to his peers in books from historians like Doris Kearns Goodwin.

  • @neklaus2 you probly didn't know this, but it's a show not a ride.

  • You would know right? Because you were totally there when he gave the speech. Moron...

  • The old one with the voice of Royal Dano was better and looked more like him

  • little biased eh?

  • who is voicing abe this time?

  • Sounds like Corey Burton. Royal Dano did it better originally. Miss the version of "Great Moments" from 1984 with Battle Hymn of the Republic.

  • I love US history, and I LOVE this newer version of "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln"! I was happy to see the 50th Anniversary presentation, but was sad when it stayed. I think Disney did a fantastic job incorporating modern technology to present history in a unique and attention- grasping way. I never realized this version of Lincoln was wearing glasses...

Thank you for posting this. WOO-HOO!!!

  • Why did it close? I wasn't even born yet.

  • Because Disney's going LAME.

It was very amazing while it was up, though. So I'm glad this video is posted.

  • thanks for this great vid

    i just love animatronics

  • if you like great moments, please rate the video, or comment on it. thanks!
