The random part is not a screamer, its literally when the redead would reach you and grabbed you. Hated these things. I was a perfectionist at OoT, destroyed everything and got everything (even restarted my whole game when i effed up the Ice Arrow maze) but I would always avoid Redead. Always... but the I got the biggorron sword. Then... meh. (whack whack).
