Good answer - the Passion of the Christ was filmed using the latter of the two techniques you suggested, and had their actors speak Hebrew and Aramaic. However historically speaking it is most likely that even the common Jew of the day, including Jesus, would have spoken Aramaic as their native language because it was the common language of the Roman empire. They would have called him Iesus Christos, not Yeshua Mishiach (though they both means the same thing.)

No, in Aramaic his name would be Yeshua M'shikah, and in Hebrew Yeshua HaMassiach, and finally in Greek Iesous Khristos.

The New Testament gives a passage in which the locals describe him as this. Since Hebrew names tend to be patronymic, I always thought this was the case.....confused....

I don't know whether it is bar or ben, but I know that the Nazarene's refered to Him as son of Miryam, not to bring her any glory, but most Biblical Theologians conclude that Yosef died during the 18 year gap in the Gospels, therefor giving good reason for the Nazarene's to refer to Him by His mother's name. (Mark 6:3, and Matthew 13:15).

Note: Mark's Gospel was written to a Greek audience, and Matityahu's Gospel for the Jews. Considering these facts, I would gather that Mattityahu was probably more accurate, saying, "Isn't his mother's name Mary?", and not like Mark, "Isn't this Mary's son?". So I may incorrect naming Yeshua bar/ben Maryam.

She was just telling him that here is nothing better than being able to see yourself in your son's face, because its a younger reflection of yourself...then Mary felt bad for him and held his hand because it was not his son.
