Jason is missed. Metallica are only going on 3/4 motors nowdays. Rob just isnt the same thing he doesn't fit the shoes Jason left.

Rob is a great bass-player, but Jason's approach was more like James', pretty much a second frontman.

Rob is just too calm and in the background at times when he shouldn't be.

He has his "show-moments", but yeah... He should step up more, it's all a bit "tame" these days.

It's good to see them in positive spirits and happy and all.

But you still have to bring the power in the performance, or the music won't make its effect.

Jason was just dead weight, music wise (sounded like another rythm guitar, just listen to ..And Justice) and that's why he never got any respect from his bandmates.

@nomad8k I suppose you don't even play bass. if you do not then you have no opinion about it. Jasons is a great bass player and if you follow the rytm it will sound better and the tempo will be right. Thats why both Rob and Cliff is a bit off in songs. FIngers has nothing too do with it. I play both with a pick and fingers it depends on what your playing. In metallica I think a pick is better om many songs because it sounds heavier and you can do more with a pick

I was supposed to be there.... bougth my ticket 6 months before the gig... I was so ill on the day before and the actual day I couldnt even get out of bed! Gutted! had to listen to the gig on Radio 1.... I remember the day itself was very warm and sunny.

Almost 20 years ago - from the black album tours when I saw them twice (including this one). Only two years before Metallica were support to ACDC at Donington. Anyone else remember these few years when Metallica relesed this album and GnR released Illusion the same summer? I don't think metal has seen better days since.
