  • Examples regarding above:

    1) a db not created on the same pc simply needs to be restored with option #2

    2) using a text file and Google? get real - obvious not in the need for a business environment CRM solution. How would you share this information, like to email or perform mail merges?

    3) Disabling firewall settings - not installed or configured correctly to begin with. This is no different for many NETWORK products.

    4) Gummy performance? Did you read the recommended pc specifications.

  • Reading these issues is a joke. They stem from poor planning. An issue with Act! software is they (Sage) lets users buy and install it themselves without proper planning, only to be dis pointed if performance or standard functionality is less than expected. There are nuances to get any software in a network environment. Variations in security, anti virus, user and network permissions can make any implementation a nightmare. This is not an Act! issue, but a poor project management issue.

  • I have ACT 2008 version. My PC crashed, I had to reinstall ACT 2008. I get a message says back up was not created wit this PC" so it won't restore my files. Back up is a nightmare with ACT 2008.

If some body have an idea about this, I like to here it.

  • Who ARE you people? I've been using ACT! since version 4. 2009 is the best version yet. i have it networked on my lan, i have remote users synching in, with no loss in firewall protection.

Either you are all from another planet, or you are trying to run ACT! on a 486, or you are all plants from SF trying to make ACT! look bad.

  • Having just installed Act v11 I'm not delighted to say it's only a minor improvement on v10. Finding information is still an insanely tedious process - it would be easier and faster to keep everything in text files and just use google desktop to find it!

  • I agree.. it is a super program (at least it "could" be). I use it only because it's really my only option for what i do.. but it's completely unstable & many of the features that are SUPPOSED to function.. don't.. i keep getting mail & emails to upgrade. WHY? spend more moeny for what? This really could be a great program.. but all the bugs need to be worked out. Reminds me of Vista. :-(

  • ACT! is absolutely USELESS. My advice is to bypass this garbage program. I had the same problems as the folks above. It is VERY unstable, gums up all the time, and requires A LOT of support that is fee-based. It's unacceptable for ACT! to require ME to PAY for their technical bugs. They need to FIRE all their software designers, take this clunky program back to design and start over. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

  • I have act 08 and OMG it is so unstable.

Trying to network the thing is an absolute nightmare, I payed over $500 for some act professional to come in and do it but I had to disable all my firewalls for it to work...Stupid!!

Also the latest update I downloaded totally stuffed up act and now I can't repair it or uninstall it so I got no idea now.

Another thing is charging for support on a program you pay through the teeth for is just complete BS.... FU Sage!!!!

  • We upgraded from ACT 2000 to ACT 2008. We have 8 copies of the worst CRM software on the planet. You can not do anything with this software if you do not purchase all the add-ons which ACT does support does not support..lol What are you guys at sage are doing?

  • This is the worst software on the planet. If you want act stay with the OLDER versaion 6.0 read the reviews the OBJECTIVE ones at amazon or epoinin. Act REALLY SUCKS

  • ACT! 2008 is a super program to own.

Using this system really enhances your business and helps you take better control of your valuable time.
