  • Funny he mentioned the 'sun worship', my friend was just telling me this evening about how her mother used to tell her 'Indians are pagans, they worshiped the sun!' (like Christians don't!)

  • Haha, that civilization looks more civilized than the one currently residing in that area!

  • @yld629 HEY! we are doing the best we can :P

  • Very funny!

  • a native had sent me this video on myspace comments in 2006.its interesting.cahokia is nice.i love this video.

  • Wago (Thank you) for this most important part of our Native American Heritage.

    Love, Steven Awohali Ganohili~Flying Eagle.

  • Amazing I never thought that a great Civilization existed in the Mississippi

  • Still to this day, a very interesting mystery...Amazing !

  • What did the Mound Builders have against using the wheel?

  • i have no doubt that that was Christ that visited them. John 10:16 talks about other sheep that he would go visit. We are his sheep and we have other records that talk about Christ visiting other nations of people. The Book of Mormon is a record of the people that Christ visited here in America... this video seems to go right along with that.

  • @jleyring what should it be christ visiting americans? it doesn't make sense and Im sorry if u feel ofended or something just accept that our own american culture (the whole continent ) was a complete different story.

  • @jleyring I believe I might have found the DNA theory to back this up, and it's not the Hg X2 which is mtDNA, neither is it Asiatic, I believe that Hg R1 which morphed in modern day Jordan is the answer here.

  • WTF is this shit, my teacher sent me here....boooooring...

  • @Frostshock09 What do you like to watch then? Jersey Shore?

  • @pgdevil Jersey shore? plz....i like to watch Charles Manson and Dr. Kavorkian interviews/ trials...but thanks for asking...how about you?

  • @Frostshock09 Have fun baggin groceries for the next 50 years.

  • @Arsenal2o6 I actually "bagged" the class, few weeks later I got a job offer in the San Fran Art School of Design(I would have never gotten the job if i were in the class due to conflicting hours of work and Class time) I get payed 25$ an hour. Bag on that.

  • @Frostshock09 Chump change, bag a real job s0n.

  • i have to right a 6 page essay on the geography of cahokia, im so screwed

  • @GoDTuTs you sure are. You can't even "write"

  • it's native. no Indian.

  • Beautiful

  • This sounds so much like they were descended from the people of the Book of Mormon, the Nephites and Lamanites. Even the time span is right.

  • wow, this sounds so much like the Book of Mormon its amazing!

  • @Tanner016 perhaps the Book of Mormon sounds a lot like ancient Native American tradition

  • @famousamos75 Im not sure if you are implying Joseph smith stole from ancient American tradition, but if you are, i have much evidence to show that there are MANY things he could in no way have had access to from which he could plagiarize.

  • @famousamos75 I have recently watched a couple of videos in where there is an assertion that the geographical location of the BOM is actually here in North America. I am not sure, but very interesting and I feel it warrants further investigation. Would'nt it be exciting if this truly was the location as in the BOM?

  • Almond Joy's got nuts. Mounds don't.

  • @katydidscorner No, he is correct. The Inca were the ruling class, the distinct aristocracy which claimed descent from the sun. Which in fact were systematically exterminated by the Spanish, even into modern-day Poland, where one of the last descendants of the Sapa Inca lineage was killed in a car crash. The Quechuas, Aymaras, etc that continue to exist today were the subjects of the Inca Empire.

  • @katydidscorner Quechua is spoken there but not more than Spanish.

  • @katydidscorner why does almost every religion or culture have some reference to a serpant or reptile? and also most have some inclination toward the power of the sun.

  • dude shot the fuck up ur not a native american yall tolk r land

  • I want to visit the Cahokia mounds some day, I remember seeing the

big mound from the freeway but didn't have time to visit the site.

  • @katydidscorner Good for you, bring out the truth, it's time to reveal to the world the facts about the native nations of Turtle Island.

I wish to thank the people who had the idea of YouTube, it has been a instrument of education for the world.

We are well on the way to the new era by Dec.21 2012

  • The story of the American Indian civilizations is a testimony to the theory of "Survival of the fittest".

  • I have often heard about 'sunworshippers' that they actually worshipped only the power behind the sun. Great video!

After reading all comments below I would like to ask you to consider that there may be a difference between culture and civilization: civilization being the outer material manifestation including buildings, technology etc., while culture is spiritual, inner achievement. Big buildings and hitec don't mean high intelligence & sophistication - no buildings doesn't indicate savagery.

  • well to be fair they speak spanish in front of the tourists, and Quechua at home, or in non-tourist spots. Inti means sun in quechua, and Pacha Mama means mother earth I believe

  • Indigenous people, that where conquered by the Incas before the Spanish arrived. I already knew that, but I was talk about the fact that the last of the true Incas are dead. Besides to me after seeing everything down there, those incas where far more advanced than the Aztecs, Maya, or even the egyptians if that matter

  • If u really followed the native ways u would not be disrespecting the sisters like that necacaluxuxultic.I mean no disrespect.

  • ????

  • I am sorry but this great leader sounds like someone I know! The great sun sounds like jesus almost you know?

  • To be honest...this sounds like bullshit but I'm gonna look into it... how can HUGE MOUND have existed and not have mound existing today?

  • there you go again showing off how much you do not know. your a joke.

  • Actually I did hear that the Mounds were destroyed and etc. I do know but one that is THAT HUGE? How do we know it even existed? I'm not saying it is not true but it's kinda hard to beleive. Being "pro-Native American" does not mean I have to believe in EVERYTHING. Unlike you, I tend to have a logical mind set. I'm not a skeptic but I sometimes use skepticism.

  • when those mounds were discovered the colonialist could not beleive our people had the knowledge and intelligence to build such architectural marvels, they came up with all sorts of theories as to who built them. Just like they've done for the great temples in the south. You have no faith in the people you call your own.

  • Ok...stupid..listen...CAREFULLY! I never said those mounds were created by Europeans because they weren't.. I know for a FACT that those mounds were created by the Native Americans...what is bullshit to me is the GIANT ONE that doesn't exist anymore. You really need to stop being a whiny little bitch.

  • @apachesbutterfly the mounds were built by a tribe of isrealites from old world isrealites who are your ancestors also man not specifically by your ancestors but by the ancestors of your cousins

  • Try reading encyclopedias. Thousands of mounds still exist, and some of them are as huge as the pyramids.

  • Thanks I will. I have heard of these mounds but I never took the time to learn anything about them. It's been a LONG WHILE since I read about them.

  • @katydidscorner, I did a bit of research and this video is RIGHT! OBVIOUSLY most of these mounds were destroyed by Eurofags.

  • I believe the Santees and many other tribes are from the Mound Builders. The MB are the ones who killed Hernandaz Desoto. Desoto left behind small pox which pretty much wiped out the MB. Their only survivel was to dispurse into the four directions never to return.

  • Absolutely great video!

  • Thank you for posting this my friend~Much respect~pCe~

  • This is so interesting. :)

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • Nice, Cahokia mounds is only minutes from my house here in St. Louis. It's sad to see what is there now, "City of the Sun" is gone replaced by a suburban slum. All that remains are the mounds.

  • Wonderful! :)

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks for showing the greatness of our culture. I'm Eastern Band Cherokee, and I'm very proud of our civilization :)

  • my friend i am a proud incan too and i feel sorry to tell u that ur people did not build this, while it is true that ur culture is beautiful u must understand that there was other people also who were not indians and in fact scientist are just begining to understand who this people were, i know that they were larger in size and their skulls were much bigger

than those of the indians their faces were flat they were the mound builders a lost race of the americas. If u do not believe do somersrch

  • ???? Are you shitting me, all the incas where exterminated by the spanish!

  • @sesrunner08 FOTGOLD

  • Nice Katy, to be fair native american culture doesnt sound that much different from Islam: Always respect your elders, no drinking, being loyal to your women, respect every person no matter what their creed or background, never harm anyone or a living creature except in defence and never take the life of an animal that you arent going to eat and if you are going to eat an animal then it must have a quick painless death showing it respect etc. If im wrong Katy id be glad to be corrected...

  • Yes, the culture is simlar, except there were no written books. The knowledge was passed down through storytelling and the memories stored in their genes/DNA. The main difference is the majority of Native Americans believed in reincarnation at the time of Columbus' arrival. The circle or nature's cycle was the center of this belief. A buffalo, eagle, or other animals/birds were their brothers in the spiritual sense. The only afterlife was to be born again as either another human or animal.

  • I think one things for sure, the same way native americans were treated in the past muslims are being treated now and probably the same sequence of events too: They finish fighting with natives and then natives fought next to whites in Japan war using Navajo code, who knows maybe after this period theyl be fighting with muslims against someone else. Theres just something about strong beliefs that ppl really hate isnt ther ...

  • @rezelute ..actually it's quite difference..unlike islam, women are in control, we don't go around killing others because of religion (unless you are Aztec), Most of us were Deist or Atheist (and in Islam, you kill anybody who doesn't worship Allah). We pretty much accept homosexuality, we are very differnt in terms of beleifs.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic Do you live in a trailer park by any chance and just watch a couple of alqaeda and think everyone is the same by generalising?

Yes there are differences but if a christian person killed someone i dont go around saying all christians are murderers.

FYI women are in control in islam and are encouraged to education/work, just dont look at places like cave ppl in afganistan. And islam states to "live and let live" but obviously ur too dumb to read. Homosexuality is also accepted...

  • @rezelutelol...trailer park? I'm of Native American origin you blind idiot. OBVIOUSLY you never read the Koran. Mohammad is a pedophile who married a 6 year old girl. Your religion is against polytheists and Atheists. I am an Agnostic/Deist that is heading towards Atheism. I worship "idols" as YOUR people call them and that is against the Koran. I read the bible too and it's just a stupid.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic, blind idiot? Yes because i can see your origin/face by typing comments, dumb ass. My point was that everything in that sentence of yours was wrong. I have read the Quran/Bible/others and i have been to every warzone in the middle east and done research for years. Where is your experience come from, reading a part of the Quran on a can or watching CNN? I couldnt care whether you are an athiest/jew whatever i respect humans based on the individuals and NOT a group unlike you

  • @rezelute, I don't hate Muslims... I hate the Muslim religion the same way I hate All Abrahamic religions.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic:You do realise that muslims are ppl whos religion is Islam? Therefore saying you hate Islam means you hate muslems. I mean i love Native American culture because of the respect they give to animals/nature etc. which is a common thing in Islam but just coz ur ignorant and insult others blindly it doesnt mean all Native Americans are the same and thus i should hate you all. I agree with you about 1 thing, no religion is perfect so it is my belief to take all good things to follow

  • @rezelute, if you like Native American culture..that's fine. I like Arab culture but that doesn't mean that I should respect the Koran, Arab culture and religion are 2 different things. I had a few Muslims friends as well who aren't afraid to question their faith. When I was catholic I wasn't stupid enough to believe everything in the bible because only MORONS believe in every single thing. This is why I sometimes HATE religious people because you guys are COWARDS!

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: Who said i dont question my faith? Who even said i was a religious person, why are you assuming things about me when you dont even know me, are you just a little rebelious child is that it?

I always question everything i see/read and if it doesnt make sense i dont welcome it, and there have been things in islam i dont follow. But you see the difference between you and me is that you disrespect religions, i just believe in "live and let live, everyones free to do as they will"

  • @rezelute , then you are just like me when I was a catholic...I didn't agree with everything in the bible. I guess you are not like MOST Muslims that do not question their faith.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: Im a scientist its my job to questions everyone and everything, god gave us a brain and told us to use it so i beleve that to have faith in something you have to be convinced by it not just because god orders you but because you think its logical. And like i said before you HAVENT been living among ppl in the middle east so dont generalise by saying MOST because the entire community i grew up in were muslims who think similar me.

  • @rezelute, that still doesn't change the fact that the Koran is not perfect.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: For the milionth time i never said it was perfect but it does however change the fact that you were wrong and dont know what your talking about. When i said before you are a rebelious child i didnt actually know your just a kid, i thought u wer like 37 and had toured the world or something. I didnt actually know ur just some mexican kid old shooting his mouth off thinking he knows everything about right and wrong from his house. Like what happened a christian girl dump you?

  • My problem with most of you MUSSIES is that you guys FEAR to question your god! WHY!? I question my religion when I was catholic...which is why I renounced it because Catholicism is evil. I wanted to be a Muslim but not everything in the Koran is "peaceful" because MOHAMMED is not "merciful". He killed a lot of innocent people. This is why I reverted to my ancestor's religion...and started reading the Popol Vuh. UNLIKE YOU I don't take the book too literally,

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: You read a book and you take from it what you think is logical/good and follow it. EVERY prophet is a human being and every human being makes mistakes regardless of who they are. From my experience of living with muslims they pray 5 times a day to be thankful no matter what they have, respect animals by only killing when they need to eat and thank it for what it provides and dont believe it should suffer, they fast to feel with the poor. Do these things sound bad to you?

  • @rezelute "every human being makes mistakes regardless of who they are." that's true but having sex with a young child (Mohammad) is not a "mistake" but rather a disgusting act. I can respect the people..but I don't have to respect their religion. Why should i respect a religion that talks down on gays, Polytheists, and Atheists? What is VERY IRONIC is that the ONLY people who take the Koran word by word are the Al-Qaeda.

  • "The ONLY people who take the Koran word by word are the Al-Qaeda", this statement is a perfect example of your retardation, they take the book and twist it to serve their own needs, i believe that beating women is something that wont be found in the quran. Afganistan remind me of ppl from the stone ages where as you said fucked up things happen because they have no education or awareness (which doesnt cover an excuse).

Who said islam talks down on gays? Where are you gettin this info from?

  • @rezelute "i believe that beating women is something that wont be found in the quran" then you never actually read it.. WHere do I get the info from? KORAN because it's IN THERE! WOW! You are in complete denial! You are jsut as bad as teh Christians who deny that their bible teaches genocide!

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: Im open to everything so let me know where please and i'll take your comment onboard.

  • @rezelute Quran say "Where ever you find a kafir you kill them"

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: The Quran never in ANY context states kill someone because they have a different religion to yours, in the Quran contexts of killing show up when you have to stand up to fight in self defence ONLY - which is what is meant by a kafir. If you flip to the very end it says this:" You have your religion and i have mine" which means everyone is free to have their own religion and beliefs. If Kafir means someone who isnt a muslim, there wouldnt be a world today.

  • @rezelute, My current religion is MesoAmerican and UNLIKE YOU I am very aware of the flaws it has. We sacrificed people, burned people alive, etc. I'm not gonna lie about that (i'm sure most Muslims love to deny such things). A lot of the Mexicans I know want to deny this and I call them BULLSHIT. My ancestors also practice Sacrificed but it was LONG ABANDONED by the time the Spanish arrived.

  • @NeCacaluXuxultic: Are you reading what im typing at all? I did say in my first replies to you that no religion is perfect THEREFORE what i fuckin mean is that it has its flaws too... A small example is alcohol, many muslims arent comfortable with sitting around ppl drinking and make odd scenes out of it, i on the otherhand dont mind being around ppl, going to clubs, and even sometimes drinking abit but i understand why the religion bans it, there is just no good in it...

    So why u generalising?

  • @rezelut,You read the book and beleive everything in there is true. I read the Popol Vuh and I only beleive the parts that are true (geneological and historical). I don't beleive my ancestors were made out of corn but I do beleive some of the people in the popol Vuh may have existed at some point. Same thing with the bible. I don't beleive in Adam and Eve (because they didn't exist) but i do beleive that Jesus might have existed. In the Koran I don't think Mohammad even deserves to be respected.

  • @rezelute If only the rest of the world lived by those rules. Sadly our politicians seem to take what lives and land that suits their desires when ever they feel like it. I am ashame to be born british, it was our country that stole america from its people. How sad .

  • @1PHILLWHITE Yeh agreed mate, im just sick of being classed as belonging to a group because of my religion or where im from (I have dual nationalities), i just think that everyone should take parts from every background and religion that they think is logical and apply it to their daily life i.e. being proud of who they are individually rather than being proud of belonging to one large group.

Native americans had such a brilliant view of life its a shame westeners didnt learn from them.

  • @rezelute absolutely. Hey I wondered wether you wanted to check out my channel. I have a vid about world peace you might be interested in. just click on my username will take you there . Peace bro.

  • @1PHILLWHITE Will do mate.

  • @rezelute "Westerners" had the same views of life before the politicized Abrahamic religions wiped them out. Celtic and some Norse people worshiped in a similar way as Native Americans, had similar rituals and meanings for totem animals, even had similar sweat lodges and dwellings. The Saami people of N. Europe, many of which are Shamanistic, still live in dwellings that are basically tipis. If we are going to place some blame let's look at the Roman murderers and Jewish slave masters.

  • @rezelute SHUT YE WHINEY PIEHOLE

  • @rezelute Always respect your elders- this is because the elders are the Ones who pass on traditional knowledge to their children, who have great understanding and experience.

  • @rezelute except islam doesnt respect women.

  • @MakeSensePlz Is that statement based on watching afghan war movies?

  • @rezelute its based on what i see in my city - Antwerp. too many young arab men are violent angry and disrespectful.

  • @MakeSensePlz Voilence, anger and disrespect comes in all religions, backgrounds and colours. I live in UK and i see white crimes being commited all the time, the only difference is that the news reporters dont go on TV and say christians commited the crimes...

When you say a statement like "islam doesnt respect women" live in a country for an extended period of time before making up your own "facts". I lived in lebanon and women have jobs and live a normal life. Dont generalise...

  • @rezelute Those are very superficial things......the same thing could be said about any religions....Native american religions theology or mythology was nothing like islam

  • @rezelute the guidelines given by the Great Sun sould like some of Jesus' teachings - I wonder... they say that the Christ appeared in many parts of the world at the same time, and taught people, so that when missionaries from Europe arrived in the New World, they had already heard the teachings and stories, and the missionaries were amazed!

  • I love your videos; thank you so much! (smile)

  • It's the Great Sun. The Power behind it is Father Sky which is also the Creator of the universe or God.

Natives of the Americas lived in harmony with nature. They learned to observe everything around them and to use it to their benefit and survival. For instance, a change in the way a spider wove its web helped them predict specific weather patterns such as an early frost or heavy rainstorms. They would then use animal skins or leaves to prevent frost from destroying their crops..

  • I LOVE it Katy. Thank you for posting this. It truly speaks to my heart.

  • Thank you for passing this on to me, very special indeed.

  • thank you very much*******************

  • super

  • Thanx my friend for your vid, great reminders,

I read this book in German language....

    Have a great day

  • Hoch interessant !

  • Thank-you for this blessing

  • it's different when you watch about some foreign people faded away into history, than when it's people you can relate to through your parents and grandparents and you are right here.

  • the 500 Nations one about chief Tecumseh tells alot. My son was born at the Dishken Zibi (Antler River) place where chief Tecumseh and the Anishinabee pushed bach the US army after the British deserted.

  • katie, what a great message and documentary before sleep time.thanks.

  • I am happy you enjoyed it. There are many stories I want to show to my friends in every part of the world about indigenous peoples of the two Americas. They had no wheels, beast of burdon, or written languages, except for the Mayans or maybe Incas, but they were not all ignorant savages. The many tribes of the two continents were more advanced than the history books would have us believe.
