make a vid on how to do it, ihave a utg l96 that broke and so i can use the stock. make a vid on how to do it so i can do the same as u. love the idea.
dont dry fire rime fire the firing pin for most of them are forged and it like punching the air it hurts imagin wat the bolts doing dude just so ur not paying hheps for a new pin
So you put an air soft stock on a shitty $250 dollar 17hmr rifle? Nice man. I put an A.I.C.S. stock on my 700p, a real one. Don't post bullshit, 500 yard shots with a 17? please man. You cant even access the magazine release on that plastic piece of shit. If you have eyes and have handled a real A.I.C.S. stock its pretty damn obvious.
nice, i like the stock. id stop dry fireing it tho unless u feel like replacing the firing pin. if u need to decock it push the bolt forward hold the trigger back and slowly bring the bolt down.
that stock doesnt look like a genuin AICS stock?, I own a genuin one and it looks better quality than that, i know the guns not airsoft its .17hmr which i own too and is great but is the stock from an airsoft? it looks smaller than normal
400 yards? That's over 100 inches of drop or 25 MOA with the 20gr FMJ. (With 36 ft lbs of energy remaining.) Does your centerpoint scope dial up that far? I've got a 4-16X44 centerpoint on my 10/22, and it only dials 20 minutes up after being zeroed at 50 yards. (1 revolution = 14 MOA).
Mine goes pretty far i think it might be 30 MOA not sure but i know i can go 104 clicks with plenty more room and even though the bullet falls out of supersonic speed it is still very accurate. Since this is a .17 i just have my zero at 100 yards and is your scope a .125 click? mine is a .250 so that also makes a difference... im going to get a better scope for those precise close shots and better accuracy long shots like a 4-16X50
It's 1/4 MOA per click on my centerpoint (or .25). On my Savage BTVS 93R17 heavy barrel in 17 HMR, I'm running an EGW 1 piece 20 MOA scope base and a Konus Pro Mil-dot 6-24X44 power scope (1/8 MOA click). 4 mils plus 20 MOA base plus 30 minutes in the scope gives me 62 minutes up past my 100 yard zero. I've sent 20 gr FMJ's out to 200+ yards before, and granted my best groups have been .57 MOA. But 400 yards? A light 5 mph 1/4 value wind shooting past 200 yards deflects +7 inches.
I dont know as much as you do bout all the "MOA" material but i do understand it and use it and yes 400 yards with a slight wind takes much correction but i have made incredibly good shots at that range and groupings within a foot if wind doesnt change so all in all its a difficult shot by far but in the right conditions i hope to even reach out to 500 yards but i wont expect any good results when i do
I'm not saying it can't be done, but post a video about it when you do. If you can keep all the rounds on an 8.5"x11" piece of paper at 500 yards I'll be mighty impressed. Maybe if you were shooting inside of a long section of a subway tunnel so as to reduce the wind deflection.
lol trust me i have done 500 yards and it seemed like keeping a body target grouping in mild winds was hard as hell ( completely stock rifle by the way) but i agree even a 13" steel plate with this caliber would be amazing but im gonna see how well i can get my rifle shooting and if i ever attempt that i will record it as that would be rare footage for that cal.
I too smell bullshit. 17hmr+wind= fail. Kid plays air soft, just watch his other vids. They consist of samurai swords and how to silence a fake rifle.
@Masahiro121 trust me i own one and have been shooting with it at 550 yards i hit a nine by nine gong 3 outa 5 times. i will be postin a vid within the next two months or so.
@Masahiro121 I did'nt know that the aics stock works on anything other than remington bolt action uppers, can you use any bolt action upper on the l96 aics?? or is marlin the only exception?
I thought that the drop would be exponential due to the fact that as the bullet goes out, it slows down. Therefore after 400 yds, the bullet's MOA drop would increase as it screams downrange. So in the end, there would be well over 100 inches of drop.
You are correct. At 500 yards, my tables give me -196 inches of drop. Needing 38 minutes up. But there's only 31 ft.lbs of energy left--but still enough to drop a rabbit or squirrel.
@PseudoScienceb20 you can always convert inches into MOA then into milrad, if your 4-16x44 is a mildot reticle which I'm sure it was. Use your mil-dot to compensate the drops plus use your remaining MOAs for more precise drop...(like I did with my Nikon 6-18x40 at 1000 yards on my AR). So, if you have mildot and you're running out of elevation dial, no problem. But the side effect maybe slightly off parallax (just slightly).
Could you show me how you mounted the action. picture not mounted?
I cant figure out how to mount my action it just is sitting in there.
i Need HELP!!!!
