the stupidest part about congress's obsession with money is that Steven Levitt and Stephan Dubner in Freakonomics discovered that the amount of money a candidate spends has very little to do with his/her chances of getting elected. People vote for the candidates they like, and they also donate to candidates that they like. That is the only reason why the candidates with the most money win, not because of the amount of money that they raised, but because the voters wanted them to get elected.

The reason this sounds like the TEA Party is because many in the TEA Party agree with this idea that Congress is overrun with a bunch of greedy career politicians who bend to special interests instead of paying attention to the American people and the Constitution. Although some may not agree with all of the political ideas of the TEA Party movement, this is somethiung that people from many political backgrounds can get behind. I say amend the Constitution to require term limits in Congress.
