However this bike looks like a 06 give or take a year, and its not injected still carb. seein alot of barriers put up between 2 and 4 strokes. firstly respect to all riders on whatever your on (its us versus the world remember)
i started on 2 stroke KDX. and there so much fun and responsive but i found i was very restricted on distance compared to my 4 stroke. the 4stroke KLX 650 could ride to china and back while the 2 stroke would burn up and frizzle getting to the boarder.
either way they both have there advantages and disadvantages. just make sure you have a lil idea what you want out of a machine before you go for one and then get one to match that ;)
well, if youve got the balls to keep the 2-stroke in the higher r's around the track you'll a(keep traveling at a higher average speed.... and b(always be right at the powerband with crazy amounts of power on tap. 2stroke 4 life

my brother had a cr250 and i just bought a yzf426. I like riding the two stroke because of its wicked power band, but I ride at my house and have trails and such in my woods which is kinda a pain on a two stroke cause you cant really open it up much. My 426 is much better for the trails. Its a beast of a bike too. It all depends on what kind of riding you do.
i tend to stay with the 4 strokes because they sound better in my opinion !!!! they might not have as much torque as the 2 stroke but there just as good !!!!
a 4 strike tends to be easyier for most people for beginners, ive had both a 2 and 4 stroke and i perfer 4 stokre more than 2 dont get me wrong 2 stroke are alsume , ut most people perefer 4 strokes

dude honestly if you have the time and ability to keep up on the maintenance of a 4 stroke, there great..but at the end of the day if all you do is ride to have fun with as little maintenance required its 2 stroke or nothing..really your cr 250 is probably a phenominal bike. i ride a yz 250 and you cant go wrong with a honda either..me personally i will never own a 4 stroke just because of up keep. when i bought my 250 i was lookin at a 450 but after he went over all the up keep i said fuck it

mi personal opion is that the two stroke is funner because it's of a rush of energy when on the four stroke it's more half throttle over evrything i can say this because i have a 2008 kx250f and a 2006 kx125. but that just my opion :)
I take it you never rode a 450. A 450 will smoke a two stroke. On a kx125 you can open that trottle right up and never get scared on the 250f ya it jumps up a little but on a 450 3rd and 4th gear roll ons you will flip that bike right back if you have traction.
the only reason a 450f can beat a two stroke is the displacement difference. See if any 450f can beat a 500 two stroke. And the cr125 still out performed the crf250.
shit it doesnt even have to be a 500, i'll put my banshee against that 450 any day,and when it comes down to it 2 stroke or 4 poke its all about how much money you have tied up in your machine,but 2 strokes by far dominate 4 pokes on any level

You can tell (hear) by how you're lugging the bike way below the powerband RPMs on the two stroke that you're better oriented to the stable "cruising" throttle you can get away with on a four stroke. I like both styles of bike. My first bike was a 70cc 4 stroke, second bike an 80cc two stroke, then a 250 2 stroke, riding an xr400 4 stroke now., etc
I wouldn't really deem this an upgrade... you don't even really know how to ride either of them. If you knew how to use a power band you would be perfectly happy with the 85 or 100 you had. Instead you wasted your money on a four stroke, which is really no better, and becomes more expensive to fix should you break it. Good Call!!!

i'll reply how much does it cost to rebuild the 4 stroke cause i can completely rebuild my 2 stroke for around 4 hundred dollars. also witch one is easier to work on i'll say the 2 stroke is it's a lawn mower engine on streriods. i'm not saying anything against the 4 strokes but in my opinion the 2 stroke is better.

#3. my shop is cheaper on rebulding 2 strokes, u could have saved :P unless if you have a 4 stroke, then you would have really saved. thanks!

mi personal opion is that the two stroke is funner because it's of a rush of energy when on the four stroke it's more half throttle over evrything i can say this because i have a 2008 kx250f and a 2006 kx125. but that just my opion :)

I take it you never rode a 450. A 450 will smoke a two stroke. On a kx125 you can open that trottle right up and never get scared on the 250f ya it jumps up a little but on a 450 3rd and 4th gear roll ons you will flip that bike right back if you have traction.

the only reason a 450f can beat a two stroke is the displacement difference. See if any 450f can beat a 500 two stroke. And the cr125 still out performed the crf250.

shit it doesnt even have to be a 500, i'll put my banshee against that 450 any day,and when it comes down to it 2 stroke or 4 poke its all about how much money you have tied up in your machine,but 2 strokes by far dominate 4 pokes on any level

yeah i got a kxd 140r its 140cc big wheel and 12-hp so its 70mph and its 4stroke and engineers have fitted a 12 hp oil-cooled high performance RACE engine

2 strokes get power faster it takes two strokes to produce power so two strokes give off more insant power 4 strokes take 4 strokes to produce power and ktm and yamaha are still mass producing 2 strokes and dont be a dick to people

Hey Chick. I started on a 2 stroke ( KDX200 ) - great bike but..... I'm on a big bore 4 now .. apart from the extra weight \i will never look back. Love the 4 stroke. Tiz chick friendly :) Happy riding and keep up the good work.

you didnt even try to ride the 2 smoker hard. you dont know how to ride one. you have to keep the speed throught turns to be able to jump them. on the 4 strokes you can just get on the gas to jump those. plus none of those jumps where not big at all.

You can tell (hear) by how you're lugging the bike way below the powerband RPMs on the two stroke that you're better oriented to the stable "cruising" throttle you can get away with on a four stroke. I like both styles of bike. My first bike was a 70cc 4 stroke, second bike an 80cc two stroke, then a 250 2 stroke, riding an xr400 4 stroke now., etc

I wouldn't really deem this an upgrade... you don't even really know how to ride either of them. If you knew how to use a power band you would be perfectly happy with the 85 or 100 you had. Instead you wasted your money on a four stroke, which is really no better, and becomes more expensive to fix should you break it. Good Call!!!
