The guy in that Ovaltine ad says something about Ovaltine helping you be a leader in your gang. I just have this hilarious image of Crips and Bloods or members of the Latin Kings sitting around drinking Ovaltine. Or "made men" in the mob smoking DiNobili cigars and reminiscing about hits they pulled while drinking Ovaltine. ("Hey Sammy, remember when you whacked that guy from Philly with a shovel and his brains squirted outta his head? Pass me some more f***in' Ovaltine, will yas?")
Gotta love John Hamilton as "Perry White" in "Superman" - can you say "hypertension", boys and girls? That catchphrase from Alka-Seltzer was so memorable; "relief is just a swallow away". I can't be the only person who wants to strangle that girl in the Tootsie Pop ad - "TRIP-ple good" indeed, imagine the neighborhood dogs howling every time she says that line. The legs on that dancing Old Gold pack allegedly belong to Angie Dickinson.
The women in the fluff-o commercial with mike wallace was my grandmother Jean Villard. She did alot of print ads and some none speaking commercials but this was her first and I think her only talking one. It was fun to find it.
This is when America was a happy place to be.
