  • now yo' talkin' MUSIC!

  • I remember her and jimi H played at stix stadium in seattle --- she drank a fifth of southern comfort -- and still sounded just great -- She was heartbroken when jimi died and she went soon after he did.

  • ‎=) this sweetheart born 19 january, 69 years ago! Her speech goes for everyone that believes in freedom

"You don't have to take anybody shit just to like music!!!!"

  • oh, oh, break it!

  • Happy Birthday Janis Joplin :)

  • AMAZING VOICE FOR ETERNITY!!!

  • Happy Birthday Janis !

  • Grande Jonis,PAZ forever

  • Asking a half million people how they're doing, hilarious. Some guy 200 rows from the stage said that he was feeling a bit under the weather.

  • @Hismailservice Why are you spamming a Woodstock post? lmao

  • didn't know of janis until haley reinhart came on american idol, haley reinhart sang this song!! look it up

  • I love this kind of music!! Damn Janis would be appalled at the kind of music that's considered 'music' today. Don't get me wrong i'm 23 and I love today's music as much as the next girl... but this is where it comes back to. RIP sweetheart keep it rockin up there

  • born in 99....but my soul was probably born at woodstock

  • reserve me a seat in the time machine I was 11yo when wood stock came to be wish I was there!!!!

  • Janis Joplin sang with so much soul she busted her gut singing. So many so called R&B and so called soul singers could learn a lot from Janis about singing from the heart or soul.

  • i want her glasses ♥

  • These are in honor of what all 'Nam Vets went thru for a country who didnt even acknowledge the sacrifices made by everyone who survived a truly FUBAR joke, yet nightmare war we didnt even belong in !!!

  • I was there....yes 1969...and 15 years old...

  • Words of wisdom from Janis :)

  • I would hit it!

  • i want to go back in time '69 get the groove on smoke weed!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sass Jordan was probally the closest to come to Joplin's voice and creativity

  • Ouvindo essa música eu me sinto totalmente underground! Viva a contra-cultura!

  • I was born in wrong time! :((( rip Jains

  • @LaxyDimmuBorgirFiltH me toooo

  • @LaxyDimmuBorgirFiltH JaNIs..perhaps?

  • So, so great. I heard this song twice last week, at grocery stores. At the end, Janis was ready to give up all the drugs and marry a man who was a schoolteacher. There are tribute bands like Janis.

  • yah stayin stoned janis, where ever you are?? I feel like her soul is inside me... so yes honey. your staying stoned. :)

  • Everytime I hear her speech at the beginning, I really tell myself.... WTF is she saying?

  • Janis Joplin was one cookin' broad, without a doubt !

  • Woodstock was real and so unreal...I wish you could have been there....

  • Ledge

  • What a Hot Voice...!

  • 90 people suck

  • i love how she started "Damn, Im 12" lol your parents rock

  • there never will b or for any reason the world would go crazy at another woodstock one in a lifetime ....

  • i was 13 yrs old when i was there and changed my thoughts on the world WISH I COULD GO BACK janis we lov and miss u....

  • Man, that band is TIGHT.

  • next time im smoking some weed, this shall be played. Woodstock relived.

  • Is it just me.. or is there alot of 12 year olds listening to the 60's hottest singers?

  • it would be impossible to create anything as amazing as this concert.

  • too bad girls today arn't into classic rock, thats all id need in life, that and a 1969 chevy camero and a open road in the mountains or out far west. I get upset every time i realize im born after the 80's and reminded its 2011.

  • @matt3rat not just the girls guys to would go crazy for another janis i was born in the 50,s and when we lost jj ,and jm and,jh in the same year music will never b the same....

  • I thought Janice as too F'd up to perform at Woodstock. The scenes I've seen from the movie indicated she was too juiced up with drugs to perform so what is this clip from? I've seen where she was just blabbing on stage and couldn't perform in the movie.

  • I am whit you forever my sweet Janis ... José Marchena de Barranquilla, Colombia

  • what has happend to music. why cant it be like this now a days

  • @stevenb1596 money. it's what happened to everything good

  • & she sounds better live.

  • This song was played very loud at my dad's funeral (I was eleven, 37 now)... Couldn't appreciate it back then, couldn't hear this song for years, but I do now.. Love this song! Love you dad!

  • RIP Janis

  • i'm stayin' stoned

  • honestly i'd go lesbian for janis.. she's completely stunning and amazing and talented. i am in love with her

  • Love!!

  • I was born in the wrong era!! LOL

  • @MsRawkerChick I agree with you !!!! All that free love and shit !!!!!!!!!

  • She is amasing

  • love janis

  • Cool !

  • fucking awesome

  • Ya first our parents then or friends and siblings and society at large. I like WTF I like and if some doesn't like it they can leave. Music feeds the soul down deep so strong that hearing a song invokes actual emotions you were feeling from the song at a time period when you first really heard it heard it. I love all types of music except rap and some crappy pop songs today. Elvis, the Stones, the Who unbelievable talent and way to many to list. Ya music touches the soul!

  • Anyone else on here ever been told that the music they listen to is shit? Or had to listen to bull-shit from people about your musical preference?

  • i was 12 at the time and it was great

  • vote up if your going with me when i create a time machine and go back to woodstock 1969:P

  • @ajrs9 Hell yeah man, save some room for me XD.

  • @ajrs9 i feel like you mission has to be successful. look at all the old footage; with all the people that are present we're bound to be there!!

  • @ajrs9 u will have to create u bus-time machine, to carry all these people.

  • @ajrs9 Definitely, man! :]

  • @ajrs9 it would be such a trip

  • @ajrs9 I wrote a paper on how I'm going to do that for English class. And my teacher loved it.

  • Comment removed

  • @ajrs9 wow, you must have a HUGE delorean

  • @ajrs 9 I've beat you to it mate,i built a time machine years ago out of an old toaster, some copper wire,an electric wisk and some magic potion that i had to travel the seven seas and many strange lands to get hold of.(phew, what a journey)I've been taking people to all the great gigs/festivals of the past, went to the 'Stonehenge is now finished' celebrations, helped Noah build the ark, travelled with Laura&Mary thru' the prairies etc,if your about next time we go,Your welcome to join us.

  • @ajrs9 I'll take a first class seat AJ

  • I am so lucky to have lived thru that era. People will still be listening & loving Janis & other great artist from that time many years to come.

  • @bradredfox goddamn it build a time-machine or contact the doc!! im fuckin serious!!! COME ON!! COME ON!!!!

  • If only I could sing like Janis. I still wouldn't be near as bad ass and amazing as her.

  • @TheButtercupTube whats ridiculous is she was drunk and a little stoned during this show

  • @peaceloveandmusic95 right man? She still sounded amazing no matter what.

  • You can almost hear babies being made during this song....=D

  • @Musicalcupcake101 .....LOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!

  • Janis was the QUEEN of ROCK N' ROLL.....she will always be the Queen.

  • Damn, I'm 12 and i would give anything to be front-row at Woodstock

  • @nana78748 Wouln't we all. Sorry posted instead of replied before.

  • @nana78748 front row at woodstock? it was A COW pasture.... in up state new york lol

...my dad barely made it out of there he said lol

  • @rolesvill but for me walking threw the massive crowd would of been worth it if i got to see Janis and jefferson airplane live.

  • @nana78748 brightside: you would have died.

  • @nana78748 Me too, omg. Except I'm 13. But still.

  • @nana78748 she's just awesome. i'm 13 and i listen her since i was like 4-5. just music for all times

  • i want to be janis joplin

  • we were so young so long ago

It was a trip, a real trip

  • best female singer of all time...

  • Id love to have Janice in my bed anytime I always have think shes so sexy esp if she could sing this in my ear in bed

  • She better not look like aa troll face. I was told that i look just like her but cuter.I loved her to death even before she died.

  • 2:29 Janis's troll face

  • lol janis was such a badass, she didn't take any shit from anyone.

  • Yeah, Mozart's music must be crap because that's really old. Can I suggest to some of you that you listen without thinking and just appreciate the raw emotion that Janis had to offer in her music.

  • "Music's for grooving, man. Music's not for putting yourself through bad changes."

  • I love the older music and I think Janis is one of the BEST>

  • This was before my mother was even born, I'm 18 and i'm going to make my children know of great music like this.

  • there was never such a singer like her, there is noone now and I do not believe there will ever be

  • @grzesieksitek Right on xx thank you

  • i wish i could go back in time and let them try weed from the 21st century.. they would freak.

  • elliott landy, find somewhere else to promote yourself, not on Janis' pics!!

  • yeah man

  • Good ole days, gone and aint coming back. Radio was the big deal. A new future classic or two everyday. Radio is dead now just a damn political tool to dumb down the cattle.

  • More than a musical revolution brothers & sisters! Peace is inevitable!

  • I found a new janis joplin about 6 months ago and now she died about 3 months ago. Her name, Amy Winehouse. May they sing a duet in heaven. RIP girls.

  • @RAY2424 I take it you were (a) dropped on your head as a baby or (b) youre a crack head....like Amy Winehouse. Do not compare her with Janis Joplin please

  • @NoRosesForMe Janis was a heroin addict so I will compare and amy sings great with Tony Bennette. Amy has a voice like Billy holiday. she's great.

  • @RAY2424 Again......Amy was a crack head freak from hell. Who cares if she sang with Tony fkn Benet? Nobody ever stops to think WHY Janis did the dope and lived the way she did. Amy was a put-on. And I grew up with a vast knowledge of jazz ,,,jazz was everything when I was a kid...so I know what Im talkin about. NObody is supposed to rip off Billie. Its a huge no-no. So.....fuck Amy Crackhouse and her plastic dead azz. Janis is the Queen. End of discussion. Goodbye.

  • I was born in the wrong time period.

  • @wickedcat29 you still can listen to the music......its all still outthere!!

  • @Hanzey666 i agree, thankfully we have recordings.but the experience was way better live in 69 im guessing.. :-)

  • @wickedcat29 SERIOUSLY

  • @wickedcat29

    Me too!

  • @wickedcat29 I was born and grew up during the 60's and it was awesome. I saw most of these hard rockers. They were fab. You can appreciate them now, and rock to their music. Peace.

  • @wickedcat29 we were a few years too late yea @87boocrap

  • people, where is the talent like this. i know our girls have it. the industry is sleazy and good people aren't treated very well. the agents would rather see them dead than with another agent. if an agent gets contract and the zionists don't profit, they do whatever it takes to ruin the chances of the new talent to get exposure in the media. they destroy them with a vengeance. good thing i'm not bitter. i hate to be on the moneychangers case but i'm sick of it. they brag about doing 911

  • La maxima representante blanca del Blus para el momento

  • Music's for grooving man!

  • Stoned, water, a place to sleep...aaahhh LIFE!!! It's all we need. LOL.

  • Eterna Janis,encantando,cantando...

  • 83 people are lost in the world...to actually click on deslike, r u kidding?

  • Those hippies do not sound happy!!!!! D:

  • @karkapariah They all thought they were waiting to be annihilated by nuclear weapons! How happy and secure could they have really been, honestly? lol

  • This one doesn't belong in the kitchen.

  • what ever happened to people helping each other out?

  • @djteedmc53 human these days are greedy. the only thing that matter to alot of people these days is how much money they have and the amount if power they have, there in it just for themselves and dnt have a consideration for others = (

  • @santasfake21 humans have always been like that, its in our nature don't be stupid

  • BLEATING!

  • my loving boys and girls...peace and love instead to cheap chatting she was an whore , she was a drunker , she was a slut ...she free herself from that holy shit of port arthur .did u ever seen that place ?? I did !!she sang for 3 beers and probably she went away without a cent from that town ...but she did it !!!!! what you ar doing ??ask the papa's car or mother's salary to have been a good student ' stock your brain with pills ? try to love

  • Love her <3

  • LOVE, this chick, RIP Janis

  • THE HIPPIE

  • Janis ran the stage like a BAWS!

  • Why wasn't this included in the movie? She sounds great

  • well when you give the fools your time and respond ti their stupid post's.. your falling right into their game. if you just ignore them or click them down 6 times. either way. they do go away. when you respond. your giving them the control's they are looking for. With that said.... This is just AMAZING & Timeless

  • che vocina dolce nonostante tutto!!!io sembro la russa e ho 27 anni!!!come lei quand'è morta porka vacca!!

  • i love the way she cares 4 everyone!!...like... are u ok? u have a place to sleep and everything? hahahahahaha lovely... excellent song btw..

  • "You're stayin' stoned, you got enough water and a place to sleep and everything?" <3

  • @livilouuu You don't see people saying that nowadays..man there's just something about the 60's...

  • @Glarium1 Yes, I know. I was there.

At Filmore West I saw Iron Butterfly, Janice, and Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane.)

    Woof!

  • @livilouuu I love it too :)

  • This women is forever missed! There is no one and will never be any one that will have such a unique voice. We need more voices like hers. Unique is different and different is great!

  • Ya know, a lot of people knock her looks, but watch and listen to her perform.

She may not have been a ford model, but she sure was sexy on stage. She got out there and did it like no one else before or after.

  • So passionate

  • @ssmith5342. well ive just spent the last ten minutes reading this facinating logic that you possess, but im gonna have to agree with the majority of people on here and say, YES, you are indeed an ignorant cunt.

  • Guys chill. The kid in these comments is a troll. Don't feed him the attention his parents don't give him and just keep rocking out to the these guys on here.

  • Why is there no video? D:

  • Who was her guitarist for this performance?

  • @nvs617 His name is John Till. The man could flat out play that thing for sure.

  • Janis was heavy into the mushrooms at this stage. They say that the bitch could smoke a whole button. DAMN!

  • Never judge a book by it's cover...you got to actually read the book...Janis was a lovely soul...take Susan Boyle...Simon Cowell and the audience laughed at her when she walked on stage...but when she opened her mouth to sing...she blew them away

  • Factoid: That dickhead, what's his name, former Secretary of Education Bill Bennet and Janis Joplin went out out a blind date when they were both UT students.

  • Mrs. Joplin, you are under arrest for using magic in the presence of mugles.
