  • how come when hes in a front stance his front foot sometimes in bucked inward? is that a mistake or is there a reason for it?

  • kara s important without their will be no kumite.kata and kumite are related to each other w/o the one, there is no karate.

  • Karate cant be karate without kumite(;

    i tested on this kata for my second stripe on my blue belt. it's my tournament kata along with neiseishi.

  • The original toudi, there truly was not kumite, like we think of Kumite. There was Kackie (tui shou/pushhands), there was Digumi (some say Tegumi...was more than sumo, it was close range waza, like upright grappling). There is much more than sport kumite. If you add in the old waza, your use of close range fighting...it is rather deadly. Non of the point fighting, but smashing the opponents throat, many times, locks, and nage waza's. The kata teaches us the blue prints to this.

  • @blueloveex3 You might have seen my message at the top. Without any way offending you, the old principles of Toudi...root from Southern Chuan Fa. In researching these principles you can take a glimpse back at toudi, before the Japanization. Belts, Kumite (sport), all were not concieved. It is the physics of motion. When we play a game of tag, with pads, it is but that. But years of Hojo undo, makiwara, all prepare the body to know how to actually damage the opponents body. Train Well!!

  • @blueloveex3 Well kumite wouldnt be around if it wasnt for Karate. Yes Karate can be Karate without kumite lol Karate isnt even about kumite lol I take Shito Ryu Karate at the Ryushinkan Karate Dojo and im a purple belt which is another thing karate isnt about because their was only white belt in original Karate, belts just turned diff color because of being outside from constant practice and the pollen from the Cherry blossom trees and grass stains and dirt

  • I do Kusano-Ha shito Ryu and we have some differences, but it is practically the same. I'm a green belt (5 kyu) by the way ;)

  • I feel calm while performing a kata. Kumite is stressy and you always have to be focused at your opponent. In kata you just do your own thing, you know.

  • bastante bom

  • @pooh we can say that it actully has change, but just about timing, tecnically talking is the same. in this videos, Jiin has change since that!

  • Has this kata changed since this video was made? I study Shito Ryu and we do it slightly differently.

  • the format

  • nice performed ;)

  • very very thanks im from iran and serching for that from long time

  • it's so interesting to see the differences between the various ryuuha of karate--i'm more familiar with the shotokan version.

  • Pfff i hate kata its so boring:D

    is the essence of karate
