the clash were a little unfair not saying that this band mattered too...GOF grew and matured artistically and their eventual masterpiece with uniform and dream alone got played almost as frequently as london calling by the cognescenti around these parts.
why not ...i got it in 79 too ----what an album of unlove political almost songs and amazing sound ---was in hospital very ill and this kept me alive.......
@ORSTRALIAN arghhh this is so depressing. cause i'm trying to start collecting punk and post punk stuff. i can find the basic stuff like the cure, talking heads, sex pistols and sonic youth but find it hard to get gang of four, wire and black flag

thumbs up if you remember how rare and hard to find this album was from 1987-1997 until rollins reissued it on infinite zero... even now, they don't let you post the song "Return The Gift" to youtube, i tried they took it down... wonder if microsoft buying the song for its ad campaign had anything to do with it !
This is superb!!! How did i manage to miss these first time around? And again, i can hear their influence is so many of the bands that appeared long after this was released. Thanks for the posting - i'm off to the record store for some belated investement.
