I know nothing I'm sure, but my mother used to design infants wear, and I made my GI joe clothing when I was under 10. So why don't you make a pattern on paper, pin to the fabric after to hold in place, keep all patterns for future use? Just drawing on the fabric freehand isn't the way. You have a great love and talent. I'm not criticizing you, it's just that a pattern, template, can be created and followed after the original creation. .Sorry,.
@TheLivingDeadOne there's no need to say sorry... but i don't like to make patterns, because i never seem to re use them... and sometimes, even when i make the same thing, i would make it in a different way... so making patterns isn't really my thing... ^^
@ljenmf Wow, I'm honored you replied to me. REALLY! Whether a pattern is required or desired, don't you think it helps? It's not about making the same thing twice, but making a variation of the original. What I mean is, do you think that the designs your reproducing have not been reproduced before? Designers take clothing, (LIke you are) and whats called, re-engineer it, and learn from it. I'm sure you do that, but,.. do you just do it by free hand, every time? just from owning the item? sorry
@TheLivingDeadOne most pieces are re-adjusted from shapes that allready excist... and some are straight from my own fantasy... i like to do it by free hand, without patterns, is because it feels like i am bond to a specific shape if i use them... i just want to create the shapes, which i think would work for me :) sorry for replying late... but what are you saying sorry for?
