  • 3:57 you called it a zippo lol

  • @xXOSpokedOXx It is a zippo...

  • thank u so much my mum by mistake fueled it with zippo fluid because it was a zippo stove lighter but thanks to u i fixed it!!

  • YOU GAVE A GIRL A ZIPPO AS A PRESENT...

  • hey, put that gas something near fire and shot it with .22, dont just throw it away...

  • @cutlerylover the best butane you can buy is Colibri it has zero impurities and is one of the only fluids approved for handheld vaporizer's which are highly temperamental

  • Why do you call it fluid when butane is a gas?

  • @threebuddies when pressurized butane is just like propane, a liquid, when set to normal atmospheric pressure it is a gas, get it?

  • Lol, look at the tags u knife fans! :)

  • Do they even make Ronson lighters anymore? The old hard chromed steel ones.

  • just so you know when you release the gas you should do it for 10-20 seconds then wait a couple minutes then do it again for 10-20 second and so on because the O-rings in the valve can get realy cold from the cool down effect from releasing butane and actually snap and make the lighter leak fuel and not work right. O-rings are not expensive but probally hard to replace in some lighters.

  • Thanks Jeff great advice!

I saw this video, went to the kitchen to get the lighter I use to ignite the gas stove, which still sparked and ignited the gas from the stove but was useless as a normal lighter.

I did everything you've said but it still didn't work, so I kept checking it and started to take it appart and cleaned everything. I found out that the little gas "pipe" (is that the right word?) was stuffed... anyway now it works again, because you gave me the hope to bring it back to life!

  • By the way - do you have any recommendations what kind of gas lighter would be the best for my EDC? (I don't like Zippos - they are to big and are smelly...)

I thought about one from True Utility for example...

    Rock on!

  • @starcraftluver62 - No thier names remain the same.

  • abrupt start?

  • I would have never thought ot clogged line in that lighter. Let alone how to clear it. Learned something about new and thanks Jeff.

  • I think that lighter is clogged with some corrosion from moisture that was introduced into the fuel tank.

  • Would Bernzomatic butane be a good enough quality for lighters like this? It's not the cheapest stuff around, and they're a brand to be respected amongst plumbers and such.

  • lol at the tags.

  • You should wear gloves when you do this, I din't and I got frostbite, I have dry skin on my hand, from filling my lighter, a year back, it never goes away no mater how much I lube it. I suggest you also use googles too, and that you fill the lighter under a vent. It's a shame the lighter didn't work properly, it makes me wonder if...

  • 1.) Buy solid gold zippo

    2.) "Accidently" lose top.

3.) mail to zippo to fix

    4.) "Find cap"

    5.) Sell gold.

    6.) ??????

    7.) PROFIT!

  • @OptiSD If you have an extra $12,850.80 lying around, I'm not sure buying the Zippo is the best way to make a profit on scrap gold. Most of the price of the solid gold Zippo does not come from the rarity of the gold itself, but because it is a unique item made of precious metals.

If you were simply going for the meme factor with a bit of relevancy to cutlerylover's lighter interests, at least it wasn't something along the lines of:

"I used to use like fire, but then I took a Zippo to the knee"

  • @OptiSD i think that they won't fix it if u have lost parts of the zippo..they only fix it if it doesn't light or the cap is loose or such thing .... but great idea thou :-/

  • now i wonder why my 50 dallor tiger torch butane lighter broke couse use that cheap butane.

thanks jeff i alway lern somthing new on your channel=)

  • hey jeff, i was really hoping that you could make a video that explains how to fix the ignition on a butane lighter if you know how because i bought this nice butane lighter at the ron jon surf shop in florida and i live in ohio so i will probably not be back their for a long time haha so i would really love it if you could take some time out of ur day to make that vid, thanks :)

  • @ZippoTrickster09 FLORIDA WHOO!!!!!!!!

  • My torch/jet lighter which usually shoots a blue flame but now doesn't work more than half the time and shoots a regular flame for some reason. Do you think the cheap butane i bought for it has anything to do with. By the way I tried what you said in the video.

  • Cheap Butane Fluid + Fire = BOOM!!!

  • i use cheap lighter juice for campfires...

  • I would light my fag before I empty the butane tank just in case I don't have another functional lighter around ,

  • any knife videos ever coming up?

  • @AYpsychOH

    look at the tags

  • Hehe, substantial spark, not so substantial, isn't it?)

  • i have the same exchangable tip screwdriver :DDDD

  • Do you think that at Zippo HQ they make their own stories about how it got broken?

  • Is it safe to purge the fuel, indoors, wont it still kind of stick around in the air?

  • Can you please do a spark fix video.

  • I don't know if it can hurt you, but it might me smart to do that in a well ventilated room.

  • Ya, I wonder if you send in a Ronson lighter..Who would be doing the repair....

  • Jeff ...Did you know that "Ronson Butane" and "Ronson Liquid Lighter Fluid" is owned by "Zippo"???

  • @ShakerHP It is now...

  • @cutlerylover it has been for some time now...

  • @ShakerHP also keep in mind they own the company but it doesnt neccesarily mean its the same stuff I dont know the details of their purchasing the company

  • @ShakerHP is the name changes or the same?

  • @ShakerHP i have a ronson butane torch lighter and i use ronson butane and ronson lighter fluid :) it has always worked very well

  • the utility lighter only has a 3 year warenty and you have to send them 5 bucks for shipping

just look in customer care on zippo

  • Jeff, you saved my life... I almost did this over my full gas range on high. But I didn't... Cause you said don't. But if you hadn't and something had gone wrong, Ida sue you!

Which it's still really sad you have to say that stuff...

  • Jeff the reasoning behind cheap gas being low quality is that these Chinese company are sciming off the bottom layers of gas in the distillation columns probably because good butane companies take the best stuff so their left with the cheap crap but they sell it anyway.

  • What the fuck, you started purging the light and a whole box of c02 canisters in my room started leaking

  • colibri butane is the best

  • You should shoot those cheapass firebirds so they are like exploding targets

  • Check out my keychain flamethrower! The way you released the fluid is the main propellant.

  • "Because I explained to her there was a little fuel window." When I heard that, all I could think about is, how hard it must have been for you to tell her to use her eyes. I doubt she is that dense, but that's just what I thought.

  • Silent but violent.

  • ronsonol always works great for me

  • @reap62 ronson is owned by zippo

  • when u were talking about the fart i did one

  • guys heres a hint dont use any fluid in a plastic bottle

  • I hope you purged it outdoors, inhaling too much of that can't be too good for you...

  • Jeff if you could do me a favor and if not anyone else who needs it... Will you show us how to fix the pins in a balisong?

  • ronson is now zippo it's like the same shit lol

  • butane can freeze your finger dont play with it guys!!!

  • Jeff, Ive been with you since like 3,000 subs, and what i have mostly noticed about how you have changed me, you have drained by money by introducing me into new semi expensive hobbies

  • Thanks Jeff, fixed my cheapo butane lighter i picked up for 5 bucks like a year ago LOL!

  • The reason the flame is small when the gas is cold is because when gases have a higher temperature, they have a higher pressure. When the gas has a lower temperature (cold) then the pressure is lower, which is why the flame will be smaller.

  • GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!CRUUUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

  • fart noise more like queif noise

  • jeff i think you and this "FRIEND" have something goin on.

  • Yay!! hanks Jeff. I have had a hard time with butane lighters, I have like 5 of em, and now I know what might be wrong. I am so jazzed! I have a question, and I am hoping you have an answer. What can I do if I need the smaller tip and the butane I have, which is zippo brand, doesn't have the adapter? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!!

  • funny part about Ronson brand is its actually partners with zippo.... It evens says It's a zippo product on the back

  • Shoot that crap can of fluid!!!!

  • man, I feel like an ass. I have thrown out a few good butane lighters because I thought they were crap and didn't work.

If I had only known, tsk tsk tsk...

    J...........

  • Jeff can you put real tags in your videos, its almost impossible to find your videos

  • @TheFlyingKen just subscribe to me thats all, or search cutlerylover + whatever you want to see I use cutlerylover in every tag for searching purposes

  • @TheFlyingKen Funny tags are better. They are funny. :D I understand where you are coming from though.

  • where is a good place to get a god zippo?

  • @MrMars360 Church, maybe or Gods smoke shop. lol

  • i used simple compressed air and never let it sit so its room temp during use Dx

  • @BananaBoat626. Check walmart if you live near one. That's where I bought mine. There cheap too.

  • at 4:00 you said Zippo

  • @TheFrogburt its a zippo brand lighter

  • Jeff where can i get torx bit screwdriver? prefferebly the entire set?

  • @BananaBoat629 any hobby store or electronic store like a computer part store, in Canada i got mine from the source by circuit city.

  • okay jeff i have a question..i have a old marlboro zippo well..not that old from like 98 or so..and it had two pieces on it that were kinda like inserts they were glued on to it or whatever to create the red on the black..anyway on one side the red came off is that something they would repair for me or will they only repair it if its a functionality issue

  • I have the same username as the Fuel!

  • can i please have the firebird butane?

  • Hey Jeff I have a question. Obviously this would not be safe at all and I don't advise anyone do but if you were to push on the refill part and the gas comes shooting out and you put a flame to it would it be like a flamethrower/big flame?

  • @likasombodeeee no a huge ass fireball and the lighter would blow up

  • Best lighter video I've seen all year!

  • I let it rest, but I thought it was like CO2 where if its too cold/upside down it would shoot liquid butane/CO2

  • i can smell it too, pew pew.

  • Dudes, it was a joke! Relax!!

  • Get Zippo Butane and do another video to prove your point

  • Just release all of the fuel...and take a deeeep breath.

  • i lit my zippo while he was purging it, now my screen exploded :O

  • more lighter videos! great video

  • You should do this outdoors

  • Thanks, my butane lighter like that has been on the fritz and I will give what you just showed a try.

  • So how much of the ozone layer was destroyed purging that lighter?

  • @avalon449 who cares? with all the cars driving everyday this was like a fish farting over a waterfall

  • @avalon449 Not a lot, butane is made up of Carbon and Hydrogen which are not bad for the environment at all.

  • @avalon449 Butane is an organic molecule, it probably would have been worse for the environment if he had burned all of that fluid.

  • @WarThug13 you are a total knob.....he has sooo much content to get through, and he has such a viewing audience he cannot appease YOUR every need, so stuff your survey where the sun dont shine, and just check out some other youtubers who may have done reviews on your precious knife

  • interesting vid. p.s if you haven't heard it enough already....real glad yer back.

  • I noticed the other day that the Ronsonol lighter fluid I bought at Walmart is made by Zippo :)

  • @ArtisanTony they recently bough the company, their only real rival for years

  • jeff would you save money by refilling a cheap lighter or just keep buying them?

  • @paintballhead03 well you cant beat a bic for $1...but sure if you bought a cheaper refillable butane lighter and purchased a few large bottles of butane it may work out cheaper...

  • @paintballhead03 Well refilling $1 bic is not worth it :)

  • ------ cont. ------ //asking what your viewers would like your new videos to be about, categories being:

    X Latest Knives/EDC Item Reviews

    X Hot Sauce

    X Whiskey/Alcohol

    X Life Lessons etc.

X Other (fill in the blank)

Now this your channel and its your choice what you put on here so whether you heed the results of that poll or not is totally up to you, but I ask that you just do the poll to get a sense of what the majority really wants from cutlerylover.

    Thank you for reading.

  • @WarThug13 theres too many hobbies to list half my viewers just want to see zippos,. its not even on your list ;)

  • @cutlerylover I subscribed for knives and lighters but I like seeing your other hobbies too. I'm sure there's different people who like each different hobby more/less, so you should just keep up doing what ya enjoy. The only sort of "category" I don't watch of yours is the hot sauce, but I've seen plenty of other people that like it.

Thanks for all the videos, keep it up. :)

  • i have no clue how i watched this when i own absolutely no butane lighters lol

  • IS MEGA 5X THE BEST?

  • My old ronson butane lighter is completely fkd

  • Hey jeff, read this please:

I came to your channel today after a long absence to see if you had a review up of the new cold steel voyagers, I didnt see one so I searched for the caly 3.5 I didnt see that either, then I got to thinking: if cutlerylover wont be making regular knife reviews so that when I need HIS opinion on a particular knife then why should I bother coming to cutlerylover at all, I just have one suggestion, do an online poll over the next month// ----- cont. next post ----->

  • "Am I missing an eyebrow??"

  • I use Newport butane im happy with it

  • Isn't that dangerous to do indoors? Letting the fuel out I mean.

  • Comment removed

  • what about ronson butane

  • @crunchymuskrats what did he say?? listening helps

  • @cummingsautocare ok ok ok mom i will listen next time

  • Should have waited for the good butane be for you started but good vid looking forward for more gun and knife reviews keep up the good work Jeff

  • small and pointy..hehe

  • I use butane that I use for butane stoves its not great but its what I have

  • Matches are far easier LOL.

  • @wildbill23c

    matches suck. Especially wet matches.

  • @cummingsautocare

Yeah I know, but by the time you get that junk lighter fluid to work you'll be frozen to death LOL, and I don't exactly trust the ones that are supposedly waterproof. That's why when I'm out in the woods I carry more than one lighter and some matches in waterproof bags which I find work better than the so called waterproof matches LOL.

  • it looks like you were breaking a fixed butane lighter

  • hahaha.. you really fixed it jeff. kill this video and lets see it again with quality fluid.

  • Shouldn't Ronson be okay since it is now owned by Zippo?

  • Look at the tags...

  • Thanks man, you saved my $200 Colibri.

  • @culterylover

    Y U NO RESPOND TO MY P.M.'s?

  • @HEadshot00001234 Probably because you replied to Culterylover and not Cutlerylover.

  • @raivok55555 fuckin lol

  • ive thrown so many clippers away coz this happened.

  • I'm assuming the reason why butane lighters are more picky is because you have all kinds of nozzles and fuel lines that can get clogged? With a wick and cotton balls, there's not much to go wrong.

  • MORE BALISONG TUTORIALS!!

  • How is Ronson fuel? I'd rather not have to spring for colibri!

  • @matt4270 ronson is good fuel, i use their ronsonol and ronson butane for my zippo and butane torch

  • That's funny my dad just had problems filling my moms lighter 0.o

  • i usualy hold my hand around the fuel tank so that it will get warm faster

  • yea

  • Helpful

  • I love these videos. My grandmas zippo was broken and she was about to throw it away and I was like I know how to fix this thanks to you and hope you continue making them. They are really he

  • Jeff......review some chocolate please!

  • I like zippo brand fuel. Seems to burn pretty clean.

  • Keep up the good work and videos Jeff!!

  • wieners
