There is a lot of these in my neighborhood and some in my house, after watching this I kept scratching my whole body and I couldn't sleep, I already have arachnophobia and this didn't help the fear but it made me more carful and aware of the harm these wonders can cause.
I have counted 26 Brown Recluse in my house, two of them were in my room, one actually in my bed right before I got in it. I am going to burn my house down.
These little killers are pretty common here in TX. I was bitten a few years back. I went to the doctor with an itchy ring of blisters on my left deltoid. I had been treating it with neosporin. The doc told me the blisters were from a brown recluse bite. I lost all color in my face, because I thought I'd have a gaping wound like the one in this video. But my doc told me that only about 10% of people end up with those symptoms. I sure was lucky!
I was bitten 20 years ago on my back. It was a nasty bite. I see now why it wasn't as bad as yours. I was bitten right below my shoulder blade where it's all muscle. Your video is the only one that seems like mine, but yours is MUCH worse! I needed no grafting, but it was a close call.. I wonder, do you ever expose your scar to the sun for more than 15 or so minutes, while swimming or something? My scar turned green and itched like crazy then. It only darkens now, but itches when I swim and tan!
@TardlingSC2 I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend inventing the 50 bucks to have a exterminator to come out and spray for spiders. Its a special chemical. I used to have these at a old house thought i was fine. Then got bitten in my sleep and nearly lost my arm. I could have spent 50 bucks on a exterminator..ended up with 20,000 dollars in doctors bills.
These spiders are very common. I ran into one in Rhode Island. My mother keeps her car under a car tent. I saw a thick web and started poking it with a stick, (like an idiot). Suddenly the recluse came out very aggressively. This thing was at face level. I jumped back as I immediately knew what type of spider it was. This one was not timid! The thing is, my wife was recently bitten on her back by one of these suckers and only received a bee sting like wound. It was moderately painful and someti

@Clarice1933 True. That was holding on the skin graft. Weeks after the bite. They took skin from the other side of the leg. It really helped the healing process.
hmm there has to be away to stop them hmmm think floks i use citronell all bugs hate that even some dogs basically its a lemming thing i make and well your clothes might smell like a lemon but the bugs hate it, its like piss not the smell the sent you know how a dog pees in a location to make its mark that is the same with this lemon spray the bugs avoid it with a passion i done a test on some ants and they left there nest and i thought spiders were a one man show and not in groups
I have swam in Bull infested waters, i will happily pick up venomous snakes but keep these things away from me! ( These and box jellyfish, doesn't help in live in Australia.)
I was just bitten yesterday and did my own self surgery cutting into the wound thinking I could extract the venom. I did follow up with a trip to ER and since these things are common in Florida. My doctor says, "Hum, nice incision.....you do know that allowed the venom to spread quicker?" When bitten, head to ER immediately. There is no self remedy. I'm fine but I could have made things much worse. One bad ass little spider.
You guys want your 5 bedroom houses on your 3000 sqaure foot lots? Well where do you expect them to get the land to do that? THE WILD, where animals who mind their own business would normally never see a human being.
AAAAAHH!!! :O!!! HOW SCARY!... the college I got to had a huge problem this fall w/ these spiders at 1 of the entrances. I always jus ran in for my night classes n didn't think any of those BR spiders would fall on me, until I came home from a night class n found 2 by my bag! I did some research n not everybody reacts the same to the bite. That's why some have a severe reaction. I think a lot of ppl also dont kno much about these spiders, or that they are so dangerous for kids/older people. EWw

I saw this on some channel few years back and i said then and i say it now, i am happy about living in Iceland. It may be cold but you are safe as hell fondling with your hands and whole arms in a very dark, cluttered, area in a tool shed....
Don't go to the Hospital they will kill you in there. I had a brown recluse bite 5 inches above my right ankle i was kinda limping around for about a week with a swollen leg and an open sore a little bit larger than a quarter never went to the doctor. Just packed the wound with the Generic brand of Neosporin and kept a clean bandage on it secured with an ace bandage wrap. Healed completely in three weeks.
@Walter5734 Sadly that is why most BR bites go unreported and are misdiagnosed in a hospital. True, most can be self treated but there are those that can benefit from treatment.
@chillicoth many people belive this spider is less toxic than the recluse, or so i think...any way the recluse's venom is more deadly thank that of a rattlesnakes

@soodiangel Yes i am a Scientist ! But some people have a much more severe reaction to the Brown Recluse than other people do. For example some people are highly allergic to poison ivy while others are completely immune some people die from a single bee sting, to others its just an annoyance it depends upon the individual. This video will most likely make people scared as shit of brown recluses. I don't blame them after watching a movie with some freaky as music, talking, and pic/vid shots. SPIDER PHOBIA ANYONE!?
@Repudation yep if you go to the hospital and know it is a spider bite be forceful for treatment. I went in a OSF Clinic and told them it was a brown recluse. The doc said it was probably something else and to "watch the area of bite". He even seemed a little unsure of his diagnosis but wanted a "wait and see" approach. Nearly lost my life the next day.

I never heard of this damn thing till both of my cousins got bit. I have yet to come across one here in Springfield IL. But after this I'll definitely be on the look out.
Brown Recluse , kill those motherfuckers. I went to basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky and when I went to the final FTX I saw like 15 of the fuckers in the woods. I was so scared, fuck the drill sgt the spiders made me want to pass out when I saw them
@hippocratesshadow9 lesson here is even when half asleep always check your covers....every night....like I do. I live in my basement w/my parents so I get a lot of spiders. Being completely afraid and paranoid of spiders if I see more than 4 in a week I set bug bombs off in my room and in high traffic areas, effectively killing anything and everything that is a bug. Always check everything and be aware.
absolutely frightening, my mom told me about these spiders, she lives in Alabama and I live with my dad in Nj we have plenty of spiders in the backyard, cause there's woods right there, one night I woke up with the covers off laying on my back and felt a spider crawling on my stomach, I brushed it away so forcefully it flew across the room about 12 ft. scared the s outa me.
@breiningac lol I think she meant that if it had a choice it would avoid us, but since it can't with our growing development into their natural environment it encounters us. We are bigger than them and thus we are the predator and they are the prey and they strike accordingly to protect themselves. Many spiders would rather run from you. I live in a basement so I see a lot of spiders. They always run away from me. And I likewise run away from them. Often ending up perched on something lol.
Oh yea thx alot! Cuz yu kno i wasnt planning on sleeping for the rest of my Life!!!

Brown Recluse , kill those motherfuckers. I went to basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky and when I went to the final FTX I saw like 15 of the fuckers in the woods. I was so scared, fuck the drill sgt the spiders made me want to pass out when I saw them

It sucks to have a shed infested with these blokes.
Luckily no one has been bitten by 'em yet.

I am never sleeping again.
hippocratesshadow9 2 years ago 2

2:25 "Its intent is not to harm humans" That is the dumbest sentence ever! It naturally fucks us up royally!
breiningac 2 years ago 11
@breiningac lol I think she meant that if it had a choice it would avoid us, but since it can't with our growing development into their natural environment it encounters us. We are bigger than them and thus we are the predator and they are the prey and they strike accordingly to protect themselves. Many spiders would rather run from you. I live in a basement so I see a lot of spiders. They always run away from me. And I likewise run away from them. Often ending up perched on something lol.
