  • 0-60 in about 8-9 seconds maybe? Am I correct?

  • @Jayeeyee yes you are about right i counted the seconds too >_<

  • What are you using for spark? Edis?

  • sigh watched this video to listen 2 years ago and now im watching it again..

  • How much did you spend on this setup? Please tell me

  • tha fucker sounds sick

  • HI SIR, im currently building a 16v with ITBs can you give me some advice on how to get my car running smooth like yours? i had a 20v BT previously that kept on breaking in STOCK form, now i want to make my EE90 Corolla into a 16v , i want too use 304 in 288 ex High Comp Pistons, and 45mm ITBs.... what have you done too your car to get it like that? btw im from south africa

  • is your bottom end stock?

  • thats fkn sick shit

  • Freakin 4A has to be one of the best engines to come from Toyota right next to the 2JZ and the 1UZ. Such a rev happy engine.

  • Fuck, that car is about as fast as my 1984 ae85 with a shitty, smoke blowing, timing-out 3a carby in it. Guts...

  • veri nice! this engine is great and works perfect! all 4age engines are great. and especialy when you put itb the sound is amazing!!! ^ _ ^

  • the ecu is stock?

  • if you read the beggining of the video, there lies your answer, hint: MS v3.0

  • sounds nice, gotta love the 4age.

i like how you use your blinker; beat it up, but stay safe.

    safety first, then team work.

  • pero esta mal la aguja del tacometro xq

  • parecia kmh y dije q era lentooooo pero eran mph?

  • i thought that was km/h too

  • you from SD?and is that a stock motor?

  • sounds like takumi's ae86 from initial D GREAT.......... i love it

  • how much more power do you get from the itbs?

  • not much more power but much more responsiveness

  • Nice mate, I thought it was slow then realized that's MPH not KPH =P. Sounds very nice too =).

  • John dont listen to the haters, that car sounded good with them itbs and that megasquirt looks tuned right. i had a blue top with hks cams and it ran amazing and strong all the way up to 8000 rpm , mine just needed a better tunning shop. I got plans to get another one ,if i find a silver top or black top better , but i will get them ITBs on it and thsi time a good tunning . Keep them sweet toyotas roaring strong . peace out.

  • Hey man where'd you get the megasquirt?

  • does anyone know ne good tuning shops in nsw?

  • Is your speedometer broken or is it really your engine that runs over 9000 rpm. hmmm

  • speedometer isn't broken. i had my megasquirt redline set at 9500 rpms, and i only took it to 8800ish. i needed a better tach.

  • Hi could I ask you How can I modify my ecu to go to more revs like you?? I don't really know what is megasquirt. My endlish isn't good also. You can have a look on my AE86 in my videos..

  • @jdmjohn619 ITS OVER 9000!!!

I'm sorry, but it had to be said.

    Not really...

  • tachometer

  • @RICEFREAK

the speedometer has nothing to do with RPM

  • @RICEFREAK AE111 motor revs pretty high.

  • Nice ITB. But the engine sounds like its timing is off, or that it is losing compression. While you were revving at around 2000rpm before letting go on the clutch, the engine sounds exactly as if the timing belt skipped a few teeth. The first gear run doesn't look right either. It just sounds and appears much slower than the stock Corolla GT-S I've driven.

  • thanks, timing was correct. i wasn't getting on it all the way, i was driving/ shifting with one hand and the other with the camera..lol

  • *sexy*

  • why throw away a perfectly good engine, 4age has potential especially since he has the red top. *gze pistons, turbo at 12psi* over 200hp

  • very nice

  • Amazing sound. Still slow but who cares thats the point haha

  • Sorry, this engine is to small for rear wheel drives. Engine not seems to be build to handle itbs.

Good sounds anyways, but it looks to stop pulling pass 7000.

  • How is it too small for rwd? A few motors in the same family (4a) come equipped with itb's, you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • I talked about what I'Ve seen on your video. I ever saw 1.6 16v in toyota pulling like hell, but not this one. Don't care if you added ITBS or it came oem ITBS, but it doesn't seems to pull hard. That's it.

  • I heard i would also need a new ecu right?

  • U need a new tachometer. and need to dtermine what your new redline is. All the real power is between 7000rpm and 10,000(?)

  • im wondering if its possible to swap a 4age 20valve into something like a porsche 944. Anyone any idea?

  • Falchion6666, Why`d you want to swap a small engine into 944 with a minimum volume of 2.5 litres? Whatever winning chance you had with a standard 944 engine would quickly go away with the smaller 1.6 engine, and the costs would be insane. Also: My 1984 AE86 4A-GE 16v with Weber DCOE`s and the details, around 160 HP. (Built for the sole purpose of torque and the parts alone were around 5 grand.) DRINKS gasoline like soda even when driven normally! Answer: It`s possible, but not recommended!

  • And also, even if you acquired the earlier 944`s with their lighter chassis (Around 2601 lbs) it`s still 50 percent heavier than a lightened ae86/ae85. You still loose much of the performance. And you`d have to cope with almost complete performance suspension, chassis reinforcement, seam welding, etc etc. in order to minimize obvious consequences.

My recommendation would be to simply modify the heck out of the 944 itself without engine swap, it`d pwn many cars off the line, 4age cars included..

  • hella 12 and 13 year olds arguing about twenty year old 1.6 litre motors hitting nine thousand rpm.

nobody has a car but they join a forum and all of a sudden theyre a mechanic

  • @illenvillan Amen! Neither am I but starten a course at TAFE :P

The sound, oh gives me those goose bumps.

  • sounds nice as hell thoo

  • very very slow car

  • this 4age il wonderfoul! it's the same engine of the ae86 from initial d...

    Cesare

  • beautiful sound... loves to be rev.

  • i can't stop watching this vid!!! please post more.

  • sick vid! I cant wait to do my ITB setup! whats your C/R BTW???

  • ITB + 4AG = *Harmonic Bliss*

  • @DanMon192003 Amen!! to that...

  • Is it just me that noticed the oil pressure gauge hasn't moved or at least a bit through out all the revs? Is it broken, running low, or does the megasquirt somehow affect the oil pressure? I own an AE86 but I've never pushed it past 6k... always wanted a ITB setup but never got the money.. maybe my next rebuild, I'll have that setup. Anyhow.. CRAZY SETUP DUDE! PROPS for a rolla dude!

  • ohh!! the roar of the 4A-GE is a music to my ear especially the Atlantic Formula tuned!

  • AND the one on the video is 16v by the way

  • 16v is better for dragging... it can be easly modded too when compared to 20v... that is of course because the 20v is not as commercial as the 16v... but how many horses is the max you have seen on a 20v?? i can bet you a 16v na with seriusly big cams can throw a lot more power to the wheels than a 20v with a lot less money

  • maybe ,but the 16v can rev up to 9k but the 20 can rev up to 12k and some are VVTL , so maybe the 16v are cheaper to built but the 20valve engines are serious engines , i got a 80rolla with 3tc , a 87 rolla with a 4age both are running on weber sidedraft carbs and the roar its music to my ears , im in the prosess of findind a 20v engine and hopefully ill find one so i can test tune it. peace out bro. and long live Toyotas.

  • What the hell are you talking about?

Stock for stock, a 16v can NOT rev up to 9k unless it is balanced well, and even then the stock rods are at there limit near 9k.

  • YES a 16v can rev to 9k when balanced and has Carillo rods. good performance rods and main bearings ,polished and ported heads with angle ,and chevrolet valves, double springs... and sorry cant tell you more cause i be telling you all my secrets. Want to learn more go to Puerto Rico home of the fastest imports of the world.

  • Oh, yes, when it has aftermarket stuff it can rev to over 9k.

I was just saying stock it would have a hard time.

    :)

  • so true my friend, lets keep the Toyotas alive, and show that old Toyotas dont die ,they just run harder. Toyota 4 life.

  • Hell yeah dude.

I've run against a lot of cars out on back roads, most of them more powerful then mine, and and can still keep up. :)

Really the only car that's hard for me to keep up with if they have a decent driver is Miata's, and MR2/S's.

  • i have a blue top 16v that has stock rods that goes to over 9k............. the only thing done is arp rod bolts, shotpeened and resized stock rods, stock crank. just weisco pistons.

  • bluetops are what started it all. my aw11 is bluetop. hd clutch, light flywheel, cold intake and exhaust

  • ITS OVER 9000!

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

    WHAT?! 9000?!

  • sounds is fucking awesome a love you 4A-ge

  • i have celica whit 4a-ge. 16 valve only.. :(

  • is yours the AT160? My celica has the 16 valve too :S

  • i love the 4AGE induction noise especialy with ITBs

  • hi.. i got a corolla gts, it looks exactly as yours (of what i saw). i got a 16v but i´m planing to get a BT. Do you think it worth the $?? yo have drived both..

  • mmm. yummy...

  • sounds fuken awesome =]

  • where did you get your analog cluster?

  • its oem 86-87 models only.

  • Nice itb's/tuning and driving. Very well done!

  • thanks.

  • Sounds yummy!!!! :)

  • i'll have to get a vid up when i get my 16v done. should be good. built blue top with 12to1 wisco/ shimless buckets and huge cams. my rolla was fun with 90hp. so 150hp should be awsome, especailly the sound. people don't get it. ae86's are fun even to drive bone stock.

  • look at that pick up from 5-8000 rpm! amazing!

  • Man, that thing sure takes forever to get going, but I LOVE THE SOUND. NA is great for the ears, just don't try racing anyone at a stoplight.

  • sorry bro, im not the type to hit up every car next to me on a red light. n/a is nice to the ears and im loving the throttle response too.

  • Yeah true, I suppose it is nice to just enjoy a car and not competitively race it. I liked my ITB 1.8 Miata, and it only ran low 13's. Anyways, don't stop there!

  • can you tell me what model toyota that is cause the engine bay looks like my TE72's

  • 84-87 corolla gts

  • thanks

  • Muahahahahaa,, Funny ass comment bro.... I totally second that Man.... Sounds freakin Killer though man... Too bad is all I have to say for it.... good stuff though

  • Yeah, second the "new tach" comment. You don't really turn over 8 gand do you? Very nice sounding motor though.

  • at that time, i had the megasquirt set at 9500 rpms. you can set it to whatever revs you want. i no longer have this 16v itb setup. im currently running 20v blacktop in my 86. i should have a vid comming soon.

  • So...which one do you feel is more street friendly(dailydriveable)and fun,the 16v itb or the 20v blktop????

    just curious...

  • well the 20v was more reliable because of the oem 20v ecu. the 16v setup was okay, but needed a bit more tuning.

  • kmh?? or mph ?? if it is mph damm very fast 4stage props dude.

  • mph.

  • wtf...stage props???

  • Wow! The sound of the engine is like its drift tuned.

  • what. an. idiot.

great car, i love the sound of ITB's

  • nice nice verrrrry nice

  • zomg.......beutiful man.....i think i just wet myself...lol jk

    Whats your setup?

man i gotta download that sound of your car and put into my ipod. Play it all the time and just hear that sound all day.....N/A FTW

  • nice, very nice, man...

  • they would be quads off of a 4age 20v

and for filters you would use filter socks on your trumpets :)

  • How air filtering works with ITBs?

  • how did you wire the vacuum tubes!!! ahahahaha i cant figure out how to do it!!!!!!

  • *favourited*!! haha id lov to also find out what your limiter is! haha wats the specs of the engine?

  • damn, wicked setup w/ the ITBs. i assume smallport hi-comp right? any cams?

  • says in the begining of the vid its the smallport :)

  • Looks great! I'm planning a similar setup for next year. MS-I Ver 3.0. What cams are you running on?

  • nvm

  • what ITBS are those?

  • any dyno number?

  • Thats a great great sound

  • get a new tach, lol, i wanna see what RPM's you're running.

  • unbelievable...
