@herbert0308 Ok to begin with, you're 10 months late on the reply. Secondly, I know its an opel insignia opc. However, Opel is the german subsidiary of General Motors. So my comment meant thats its the European version of an American car. So before you try to correct someone 10 months late, do YOUR research and shut the fuck up.
Opel Insigna OPC. Même chassis que la prochaine Saab 9-5 ! Bloc moteur turbo provenant de chez Saab. Ils sont considérés ici en Europe comme les pros du bloc Turbo essence.
none of the gmc models make sense, or the saturns, or the pontiacs. Gm is just doing brand badging. Thats why they are going bankrupt. Too many of the same car.
You're poorle informed. It's not the same car. It's not rebadging. It's platform sharing. The only version of the Insignia that is a rebadge is the Vauxhall insignia, and that's not even sold in the same nation. Now a car using the same platform is the Buick Lacrosse, but once again, they are not sold in the same nation. Toyota platform shares. so does Honda, Hyundai, Audi, Skoda, Ford, Chrysler and Nissan, plus much much more so don't even take a jab at just GM.
Gm is one of the more notorious brand bagger, the have like 100 different companies of the same car. Im talking about the sierra and silverado, and the yukon and tahoe, and the colorado and canyon, and there are others but ill stop there
Now the trucks are rebadged, but they appeal to different markets. the SUV's you listed are sharing platforms, not switching badges like you say. Seems you have have a little more to learn about the two.
Big differences is the Yukon has a retuned suspension, minor changes in sheetmetal that makes it stand apart from the Tahoe (the reason you can tell then apart, and the other reason why it's not rebadged.) and the Yukon gets more features, inspection points and even more welds, but it pays off in the long run, because when you get into both of them, you see a huge difference.
Think of the Toyota Landcruiser as the Tahoe and the Lexus LX570 as the Yukon.
Pretty nice looking car. I saw a program on the Deutschwelle tv station on cable and the discussion was that Opel wanted out of the GM umbrella (Opel is in some real trouble in Germany I think).
It's not that Opel/Vauxhall want out of GM, or that GM wants to lose them, it's about government funding. As a German subsidiary, Opel needs funding from the German government, but they do not want funds going to an American parent company. The same is true for Saab and the Swedish government as well as GM with the US government.
GM has owned Opel since 1929 (Vauxhall since 1925) and they are integrated into GM's global operations.
If GM decides to bring this over as a pontiac, I hope it's a they make it into a Grand Am or Grand Prix but then again it looks too classy for a pontiac..
I hope that when gm update the pontiac g6 to the epsiolen 2 plateform that this is the gxp verizon. I also hope that this will be in cadillacs new entry level car. I hope gm survives
Amen brother lol. it sounds like a beast of an engine. GM has never boosted a V6 besides in the GNX i believe. And with the performance of the 3.6l v6 toping 300hp in the camaro, you know this 2.8l cant be bad at all. really hope this engine hits American soil :)
actually i was talkin turbo, not supercharged, and if im not mistaken, that is the same turbo V6 in the GNX which i was referring to, but i could be wrong.
But i should have specified, i was really talking about boosted v6's over 300hp or more.
but not bad w/ the styling...kinda reminds me of a Lexus GS from the side and a BMW 5-series from the back...i guess Opel's grown up a bit...but probably still tweaky as ever...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
owned by Ford. Something is wrong with electricity, or tires. Fatal issues (check their records). Garbage. I'll stick with real German and Japanese cars.
Buick Regal GSX anyone?

This will be straightliner more than cornering mashine. All OPCs/VXRs are. So basicly enthusiasts are much better off with Evo/STI than this.

I hope the Vauxhall Insignia VXR murders the Top Gear Test Track. It was embarrassing watching the old Vectra VXR turn in a straight line.

Yeah, and that insignia is just beautiful, would be a real pity if it was only show and no go :(

is this a rebadged/restyled chevy malibu?
svingt 2 years ago
No, but I'd say that they've got the same chassis, only a little bit modified in the Opel :P
norra124 2 years ago
they shuld sell this car as 2 oor only

Yeah that would look better than how beautiful it already looks :D
norra124 2 years ago
Cool car. It's good to see Opel is doing something on their own now.
Motive17 2 years ago
Well I don't think they made it on their own, looks a lot like the malibu, only a little bit modified :P
norra124 2 years ago
True, but at least they didn't take the Sky and call it something else without changing anything.
Motive17 2 years ago
Yeah a malibu, only a little modified, thats what I said haha, really beautiful.. :P

gmc makes trucks.

and the yukon is classified as a truck when? It's an suv. And crossovers are trucks when? And im just saying what i heard.
gunzkevin 2 years ago
i know that, but a gmc version makes no sense since this is a sedan.

every company does this its only because gm is the monster it is does seem like alot of rebadging

TangoR34 2 years ago
We don't even have the regal yet. That's in china for now.

Not likely, but the platform will probably underpin a Buick Super. Either the Lacrosse or upcoming Regal. Can someone say GNX? lol
