I don't like USB hubs that need external power. It seem crazy to have yet another power adapter under my desk!

You can only use low-power devices with it, like keyboards and mice. Any other USB devices need power.

Nope that's not right! That is... I have the cordless hub connected to my computer (iMac) and it is feeding three external HDD's. Connected to the keyboard will need power I presume.

No. Keyboards will work. Try using a webcam through an unpowered USB port, and it will not work. Most USB devices to not. Hard drives don't use that much power though.

question. im using a old fart dell modle computer. and when i go to install my usb devices. it says program isnt microsoft certified. well it is because its from them. then i always have to keep doing a fresh install on them every so offten. is there a way around that. if anybody knows please tell me. its a real pain doing a fresh install on everything all the time. thanks. peace. gregg

and a Mac Mini that runs his live stream

but he uses Mac OS X Leopard most with VMWare Fusion (XP)

The computer hooked up to the 30" moniters is just called a MAC PRO not a MAC BOOK PRO. Thre MAC BOOK PRO is the laptop only. The tower version is called a MAC PRO.
