  • It really depends on you and on the lecture. I found it beneficial to do so in most of my classes. As soon as the prof would start an anecdote about her niece's 3rd birthday or her trip to the international statistics symposium, I'd mentally go over my to-do list for the rest of the day or think happy thoughts about that special someone as a sort of break in my seat. I couldn't do this with every prof or every lecture, but most profs give you the opportunity for an in-class break at some point.

  • So if I'm in one of my classes, should I stop focusing for two minutes during the lecture???

  • If I use that break for a phone call or a my favorite TV show, it'll be a 2 hour break!!!!
