1995 Oldsmobile Aurora vs. 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

Alero came in both 4 and 6 cylinder form. The aurora is fast but not so sure if its a match for a hemi.  Not a Mopar fan, actually I'm more of a GM person, but just gotta be painfully honest... some Mopar is faster then GM.

I really do like these cars and I thought about getting one at one point but I got an Impala instead because I wanted a newer car, but this car is pretty sweet.

alero's come with 4's and 6's but i just use it as a commuter, if im gona work on somethings its gona be an odler 240z swap for a l28ET with hybrid t03/04 garret turbo's or get a r32 or r33 body no motor and work from there alero's to me are just a commuter for me tho i have seen some people throw v8's in them

shit i know my classic would take a 300C, but not the 300C SRT version, weight for the 300C is 3721 with 250 hp.the SRT is 4000 with 425 hp. the aurora is 3820 with 250 stock. so don't get the 2 confused!

i have the aurora, most amazing car ever, just shuts down at 5000 rpm, but is very pissible to get past 120.....i did it :D gata accelerate SLOW!

for what reason do you have different injectors? I am assuming that you got larger ones and if that is the case, the only reason to get larger ones is because your motor is taking in too much air and the injectors cant flow enough fuel to get the right A/F ratio. unless you are FI you shouldnt need to change injectors and you are clearly not...

Nice Aurora :) I have a 2000 Alero V6, runs around a 14.9 1/4 mile if I launch it right. I still don't know if I could take you past 115 because the Alero has such long gearing.

You can mod the PCM, Intake, Exhaust on any Northstar. UNlock the hidden power and it goes a little faster. Your right that its no race car. It's a wake-up call for those who think the AUrora is a push over...

well try telling my aurora that. It seems to like to go fast and I've raced many people. To say it is not a good racer is like calling that hyundai down the street a jaguar!

There are a few things that differ between the Alero and Aurora. First off, they are two different classes of cars. Alero's are sportier than the Aurora and have way more mods, and the Aurora may have 250HP stock V8 (215HP V6) but its such a heavy car and really no mods at all. The Aurora is more of a luxury "pimp-out" kind of car, shouldnt be used for racing because its not that great at it. I like both cars, but racing isnt for the Aurora.

I had a 1988 Mustang GT running high 11s in the 1/4 mile. I know what a fast car is when I see it. Im not putting down either car, I am just giving my opinion. An Alero can be made a lot faster than an Aurora. But talking stock vs. stock, although the Oldsmobile is much heavier it would dominate a stock Alero in both acceleration and top speed. But modded that Aurora has no chance in hell, because they dont make many performance parts for it.

dude read his description it says that ALERO has many mods so evn though the ALERO has more available mods and you put them on it it still can barely hold its own against the aurora

Im sure it doesnt have many mods, maybe a cold air intake and an exhaust. I dont doubt that an Aurora is a fast ass car, but I wish they had more mods to make them faster...like in the 400-500HP region. But if that guy were to add forced induction to that Alero, then the Aurora wouldnt have a chance because of the power to weight ratio.

well ive seen a 450 hp first gen aurora but didnt say how they got that much ive seen a 337 hp first gen aurora made by borla they put an aftermarket throttle body aftermarket intake and a 75 shot of NOS that kicks in wen the engine reaches 3500rpm and they lowered it an inch

Thats awesome. Maybe I was wrong! Haha. Its ok though, Im getting myself a 79 Firebird. Faster than both of those cars combined (as well as half as much mpg)

thats cool u hav fun wit it though i raced a 300C on sat and he took off we werent evn ready to race so we got on it and we had already caught up to him by the end of first and he was still on it we raced to bout 65 and at the next stop lite he was bangin on the steering wheel and he was lyk dang it dang it because he had gotten the lead but we just flew around him in our Aurora

I call BS. First off, the 300C weighs less than you car. Second, it has 90 more hp. and Third, there is no way your mods make up for those differences.

What does this have to do with 4 cyclinders? Alero comes with a V6. Oh, I see what your saying, because when you hear the word "rice" you automaticly image some bright green honda Civic with the works done to it. Ugly ass exterior, bright interior worth more than the car itself etc..

Fact is any car can be riced out, for a Mustang to the Vyron (yes I've seen one ruined by some asshole).

P.S. Buddys autocross CRX has only 5K of money spent on it and it easily dose faster times than local Vettes

im kinda surprised i have a 2001 alero 3400v6 and a guy at work has a 1996 aurora from a dead stop my alero gets about the car lengths but i will admit from higher speeds like 80 its not as fast as a v8 powered car, nice aurora though
